Cheese or Chocolate?
Why drop either ladies? I have experienced first hand that if I give up something, I tend to crave it MUCH MUCH more. When I used to allow myself cookies, for ex. I would prob eat 2-3 per week. But when I denied my self of them, I found myself craving them and eventually binging on them over the weekend (I swear I ate 5 large cookies in one sitting once - I couldn't stop myself - after the 1st cookie, I had no control - so hard to explain!!)... So i saw have your cheese AND your chocolate too. Parm is a great cheese since is lower carb and fat, and a little goes a LONG way. I find also when I use really aged cheese or tart-ish ones, I tend to use less, but still feel happy abt eating cheese
. I also LOVE LOVE LOVVVE cottage cheese, and the immense protein from this makes me okay with the 5-6 carbs per half cup that it has to offer. ALSO, BONUS! - u can get it in low fat versions - I like to mix 1% & 2% - the skim kind has too many nonsense added ingredients, and let's face it, a little fat will help keep us fuller longer, right?
Oh, ans for chocolate, I used to LOVE milk, truffles, white - all the bad stuff. I have acquired a taste for 70-80% dark chocolate now and I love it! The key is to let it sit on ur tongue until it melts (and since its dark, it will take twice as long to melt vs. milk or other kinds) and one piece goes a lonnnnnnnnnng way. A few varieties I have found to be yummy AND less sugary are: Lindt Ecuador 75%, Hershey's Bloss 70% and Nestle Noir 80%. Try em out and let me know what u think

YUP!! HELP ME AGAIN!!!!!
Hi Amy!
I measure my Waist as the narrowest part of my stomach area (about 1 - 2" above my belly button). I also measure 1" below my belly button and use this to track my "stomach" measurement. To tell you the truth, you can literally start a measurement log measuring several parts of your body (who cares if this is truly a WAIST or BELLY or HIP measure right?). As long as you measure those same areas when you re-measure yourself the next few times around, that's all that matters
Hahahah I like the idea of measuring our baby toes - we'd always be pleased with ourselves this way right?

how do you pick a diet
Has anyone tried south beach? Right now I'm incorporating WW (to some extent), South beach and Atkins. Atkins' 20 net carbs during induction is WAYYYY too low for me. I exercise 2 hours a day and need my carbs to get through my workouts. I've opted for something arond 40-60. Atkins doesnt allow yogurt, but I believe in its nutritional value (and in moderation, and unsweetened, ofcourse) so I follow the south beach style in this aspect also. However I do buy atkins shake and bars and incorporate these as "snacks" or one of my 5-6 meals throughout the day. Does this seem like a bizarre eating plan to you guys? I don't know if I can do this low-carb thing for a long time, but If I KNOW it'll work, I'm more likely to stick to it!

Gym People
I'm not sure if your local gym offers a "Body Pump" group exercise class or not, but I find this class is great, especially for women looking to tone down and not bulk up. It's a cardio-style weight lifting routine that involves squats, lunges, chest, biceps, triceps, shoulder, back, and ab routines - a full body workout! Since its choreographed to european dance/trance/pop tracks, it's a high-rep (thus lower-weight since you can't lift too heavy and keep up with the reps at the same time) weight lifting routine. I HIGHLY recommend it. If you gain a little weight in the beginning, it's no biggie. Just measure ur progress by how your clothes fit and if you're shrinking in inches. That's what we all want at the end of the day right? : )
If you're using the gym as an alternative to dieting/following WW, then that's another issue. Why not incorporate both? If you workout a little more, then reward yourself with a few extra points worth of food. It's important to strike a balance between both, since that is the long-term solution honey! : )
Good luck!

A Before and After picture
WOW! Look at you!! You look amazing!!!!!!!!!!!
I've also been on a similar journey for the past 2 years but have not done the before/after picture thing - I think I should give it a try... it would especially help on those days when I 'feel fat' : )
