I went from 167.8 to 164--that's a net loss of 3.8 lbs. Here is my suspicion of why I gained so much last week. I had an invasive medical procedure that caused me to retain excesses water weight around the traumatized area. That in combination with poor eating, due to self pity over the necessity of needing the procedure. Nevertheless, I'm thankful for the loss, but still disappointed that I'm nowhere near my goal.

On a different note, some maintain that you can't do both, gain mussel while losing fat. This isn't true, although not easy. Here is how you can tell if you've accomplished both. If your overall body measurements and weight has decreased, yet your strength has increased then you've made the successful exchange of good for bad. Over the last month I only lost 1 1/2" and a few pounds yet I gained strength in every area. The benefit is my clothes like me better and the mirror is a tad easier on the eyes, and my mind agrees.
