Well will you look at that! I'm almost afraid to record that, think it might be a fluke or something🤞 Anyway, last week's attempt at low-carb did help with weight loss, but it's probably not sustainable for ME. I like my cereal, rice, pasta, etc. So naturally I took a "break" from it over the weekend, had the usual weekend weight gain (not too bad, though), & happily it all had come off by Tuesday. So far this week I've just been a little more relaxed on the low-carb, still having the sugar-free chocolate stuff & made some low-carb meals, and then THIS happened! Oh, I should point out I'm stepping up the exercise a bit as well, though probably not THAT much. I kind of like the previous 21-day fix plan better, because I can eat the oatmeal, rice & pasta - just not that much of it. Whatever fits in the yellow box, which is roughly 1/2 cup. Really, it's plenty. But last night I had a veggie beef soup, super low carb. I also have some low-carb TV dinners for work, mostly meat & veggies as well but I like them. Anyway, hopefully this weight loss will keep up for another 10-12 lbs or so😉 Have a great day, everyone!

Another 1/2 lb! Yesterday I bought a whole lot of sugar-free chocolate, my secret weapon LOL! Seriously, I went way over on carbs yesterday but STILL managed to lose a bit. Gonna try to stay under 100 grams today, low carb but not ridiculous IMO. I did lift some weights yesterday, it was a short routine & I couldn't get to the leg press😡 oh well. Today will be cardio, I'm getting on the tread climber in a few minutes. I'm also trying to stand up from a chair without using my hands to help - keep it all in the legs. Don't know why, that's just what I feel like doing. If I want to push up with my arms, well I need to just do pushups, right? Have a great day, everyone!

Another drop, this one about 3/4 lb, exciting!!! Think I'll keep trying this low-carb thing for a little longer. Though I can see I'll be going a bit over today because of the pasta. I very carefully measured out 1 oz to cook, and I'll be looking for a lower carb option at the grocery store today. Hope everyone else is having a great day, too!

losing 5.3 lb a week

Well, for the past 2 days I've been following a very low carb diet, and I've FINALLY lost another lb. I'm almost afraid to record this loss, since as I said in my last post the weight goes down for a minute, then back up. Anyway, I read this article about treating Type II diabetes with a very low carb diet, which made me wonder what exactly does that mean? According to "the experts," it's around 26% carbs, which for someone trying to hold calories down to 1400 daily equals about 91 grams of carbs. That means no cereal for breakfast, a lot less fruit, and sugar-free chocolate. I can see the chocolate is the biggest offender for me (big surprise), as I'm probably eating just as much of the sugar-free variety as before. I can also tell you I'm not liking this diet very much, I miss my cereal & fruit so I need to rethink some of this. This diet allows for Ezikiel bread, which is interesting & my hubby likes it. Really, I'm doing this more for him than myself, since he's the one with Type II diabetes. Well, lots to think about here. Have a great day, everyone!

Well it's been awhile since I've posted, since my last attempt at the 21-day fix. I injured my knee, but it's better now & I'm starting to exercise again. Can't seem to get below 156 lbs, the scale touches that number but then goes back up a half lb or so. SO FRUSTRATING!!! I'm thinking about trying the diet part again, and really focusing on keeping the calories down. As for exercise, well I think there's something to be said for rest days. I should still be able to work out 5 days a week, but getting in my steps everyday even if I don't "work out." Fridays are my least likely day to work out, I got on the tread climber twice this past week & actually went to the gym Wednesday to lift heavy weights. Gotta say, I kind of like doing the AMRAP exercises with dumbells that was prevalent in the 21-day fix. It's something that I can do while watching TV. I've also been orbiting my living room to make sure I hit 6000 steps. Probably looks weird, but it gets the job done. Have a great weekend, everyone!
