FINALLY!!! In my possession is the family scale. Its a 40 year old doctor's scale. Top bar slides up to 50 lbs and bottom weights go in 50's. I was able to move the large weight from 200 mark to 150. Granted, the slide is near the 50 lb mark at the top, but I've been waiting a couple of years to be able to move it. Have been fluctuating between 204 and 210 until this morning. God is good.

A PAGE FROM THE DIARY OF A SUGAR-A-HOLIC
Last night on the way home from the grocery store I remembered ice. I stopped at 7-11 and suddenly found myself in front of the upright freezer staring in at the ice cream as my eyes glazed over with the choices. As quickly as it had happened, I was hopped into my van, tossed the bag of ice onto the floorboard and flung the bag of ice cream onto the passenger seat. “I’m like an addict who just got a fix,” I thought to myself. As I drove away I truly realized that the ice cream had no place going home with me. Nevertheless, I scored. Got home, unloaded groceries and was surprised that I was able to make myself put all the groceries away before secretly going to the garage, spoon in hand. Yep, you guessed it. I pried off the lid, dipped in, and a moment later my mouth closed over a heaping spoon of Dryers Thin Mint. My eyes closed and a wave of “sweet” relief washed over me. I put it away knowing I would be back later for more.
Here’s the problem. I’m a sugar addict. 1 spoon isn’t enough. 1/2 cup is not enough. It won’t be enough until the carton is gone. The contraband can NOT come into my house.

Last Sunday I hopped on the wheat free wagon again and have done my very best to stay away from common refined sugars as well. My mental clarity and energy continue to increase. My blood sugars are down, and my weigh in shows a 3 pound loss. Had a few withdraws but didn't binge. When I started this last week, my thinking had shifted and it hasn't changed; Feels like something deep inside. My hope is that it is a permanent change. I remember daily that sugar is my addiction and to be treated as such.

It's nearly 1 AM and I can't sleep...the alarm goes off at 4:45. Ugh! This rarely happens to me. What's worse are the chips soaked in dill pickle juice that I just ate, BUT I will simply record them as one of today's snacks. When I get up at 4:45 its going to be a great morning!
