I went on this diet last year at this time. I lost exactly 50 lbs in one year. Most of that weight came off before last fall, and since then, I've been holding my own, not losing anymore, but maintaining my weight. I still need to lose another 50 lbs, which no one in real life believes since I don't look too overweight at this point. Actually, I can hardly believe I still weigh what I do, but I still have quite the jungle pack (abdominal fat) and in other spots as well. I feel so much better after losing that first 50 lbs, and quite frankly, I could probably stay at this weight forever and be okay, but it doesn't make sense to weigh so much. It is hard on one's joints, knees etc. Also, I know what is under all this extra stuff...lol Anyway, wish me luck! My body acts like it will not, for love or money, drop any more...it is just being naughty. So induction phase II, here I come!

Atkins Weight Stall
Hey, I have been living a pretty good lifestyle since last summer, adding in more carbs and maintaining my weight loss. (I stopped tracking here as I was exhausted!) The problem is I stopped losing. I still want to lose quite a bit more.

Anybody out there on Atkins have the same experience? I guess I'm planning on going on a phase two plan. So I'm starting induction again and hoping to get my body losing again. I mean, a woman of 5'7" should not weigh 189 lbs, right?

Anybody stall on the scale a long time and then drop all of a sudden?
Just wondering how long the body can continue to pile on the water to maintain its weight. Can this go for weeks? Seems crazy to me. I read about how this happens, but if one is really losing fat steadily it should eventually drop off, but when?

Advice on Extending Induction for Atkins
Hi, I've lost 9-10 lbs on the induction phase of Atkins, but I still am so heavy. I want to get to below 200 lbs by summer, (about 19 lbs to lose) so want to extend the induction phase. I'm doing well, taking vitamins and eating plenty of veggies. Anyone extend induction? Do you know if there is any problem with doing so at least until I get to the 200 mark? I know we all want to lose quickly, but I have a friend coming in June and want to be so much better by then.
