Feeling a little hopeless right now. I've yet to use my gym membership more than a handful of times, and I have been doing a terrible job at resisting my cravings. Just last night, after class, I ate a bowl of Lucky Charms before climbing into bed. Not because I was hungry but because I knew they were in the house and that they are magically delicious. Long hours and lots of schoolwork are making me feel overwhelmed, and like any free time I have should be spent studying, not exercising. I haven't logged my foods in a very long time, I guess it helps me deny that there's a problem! The only thing I HAVE been doing right is my 2 hour Saturday hikes, but I know that it's not enough exercise to make much of an impact. I'm doing well today, I didn't bring any unhealthy snacks to work, just some Wheat Thins and strawberries. The real test will be when I go home tonight and the family is eating cookies at tea time...and then when my dear Mother-in-law innocently pulls the ice cream out of the freezer after dinner and raises her eyebrow at me. I plan on doing the dishes and running as fast as I can to the office, and there I will bury myself in my studies until all thoughts of dessert have disappeared!

Decided to weigh myself today since I felt like I'd lost a pound or so, and it turns out I've lost two! My hubby even noticed that I looked different! I've had strange eating patterns for the last three days, I've been inadvertently skipping lunch and not snacking much. I've been off work and have been sleeping late for the last few days, so by the time I eat breakfast it's lunchtime. Then, by the time I'm hungry for lunch, it's almost dinnertime, so I just eat dinner! Last night I was in class and didn't even eat what I'd consider a proper dinner, just a smoothie and some kind of nut-bar thingy. Going to the gym this afternoon, to continue my couch-to-5k plan, and some upper body work. Maybe even a few minutes in the sauna!

Finally going to my new gym today, as I was going to on Wednesday but woke up with SERIOUS cramps and nausea that wouldn't quit. Meant to go yesterday, but since I'm not in the habit, I forgot to bring my gym bag to work, and then had to stay at work until 7, which would put me at the gym at 8 and home way too late to get any study time in! So, I packed my gym bag this morning and come hell or high water I will go to the gym! I want to try some HIIT, which I've never technically done before although I used to do a less intense version of interval training months ago. Although weight training is my favorite part of the gym, I'll skip it tonight in the interest of time, but since I'm off work tomorrow I will do it then! And who knows, maybe the hubs will be up for a hike on Sunday!

Joined a local gym on the weekend, but haven't had a chance to go yet. I started my English class last night and already have an essay due next week! I had planned to go to the gym tonight, but schoolwork takes precedence. Luckily, I got an unexpected day off tomorrow, so I can go to the gym in the morning and take my time enjoying it! I also start my Sociology class tomorrow night, let's hope there are no assignments right away!
