I've been active all my life, 35 years of training horses, and now 25 years of going to the gym almost every day of the week. At 69, have gained 10 lbs in the last 6 months! not happy about this. I used to be able to eat whatever I wanted and never gain a lb. but am now basically like a normal human again. I ate at lot, and it really was fun. Now,I am watching what I eat, and not able to loose a lb. Am actually scared to weigh myself, but they weighed me at my drs. appt last week and I was 131. At age 17 had a food disorder, and was anorexic for 2 yrs. Am feeling those old feelings coming back, and am very scared to eat now, and eating anything at all makes me feel very bad about myself and very guilty. Not sure how to handle these old feelings that are back in my life. Walking the dog long distances, (about a hr each day) plus going to the gym. Doing cardio for half an hr, plus weights and stretching. I guess I need to do more cardio, cant really do much upper body because I had surgery on my R. thumb so have to lay off of lifting for at least another month, maybe more. Also walk the Fullerton stairs about 3x a week, which is a total of 467 stairs in one pass up the hill. I usually do 4 reps. This is an amazing exercise and love the fact that its outside. Any suggestions would be helpful and much appreciated. Or maybe connect by email or something to have a buddy to help each other out. Getting old is really difficult, and I wouldn't suggest it to my worst enemy. lol
