Finishing up a month of Keto. A very successful one in my opinion. The most relevant thing for me (other than weight loss), has been how I feel. I haven't been as moody. My digestive system has appreciated the change. I have struggled with working out, but that has been the only adverse impact. and that will pass as my body adapts.
I can't believe that I waited this long...

21 days on Keto. I got through two social events and two dates while keeping to the keto way of eating. I was disappointed with how I felt after having a single Jack and diet, so I don't think I will be drinking again any time soon. I still have a lot to learn.
I started listening to podcasts pertaining to keto. It is good to hear personal stories in combination with all of the lessons here on FS. More knowledge is good and helps keep me focused. I have noticed a lot of changes as I have been adapting to this new WOE. I am still struggling with working out and feeling like I have the energy to go as long as I used to go - I am sure it will happen eventually...

Day 13 of Keto. I feel different. Ketosis tested for and achieved on day 10. I am not sure how to go into all that I have noticed, but I will try.
1.) No more headaches, but I drink a LOT of water!
2.) Leg cramps, but not as bad as I had last summer. This happened after a day with less water than usual.
3.) Energy levels. Here is where I am confused. At times, I feel more energetic. While working out, not so much. It feels more labored. I also don't get the "High" I used to get after working out. I could just as much nap as anything else!
4.) Mood - better most days, but that may be because I am focused on my personal goals. Regardless, I feel more empowered right now and so I will say mood is right on target.
5.) First week's drop was all water. This week, I actually feel that the weight is body, not water.
6.) I worked out five days this week. Five days of a minimum half hour on the elliptical per day. Total work out time: Four hours, 15 minutes.
All in all, not bad. I am not hungry. I am not craving things as I had in the past. But, I also feel more accountable - like one french fry will send my body into fat storage rather than fat burning mode.

Starting day 9 of Keto and I have achieved ketosis. It took some time to purge the carbs, but I am now on the right track. My hunger has improved and I feel myself eating less. Certainly less volume - and that will allow my stomach to shrink. I have gotten through the past two years eating a bag of prepared salad everyday for lunch. My stomach has never reduced in volume due to this and so it seems as though I was perpetually hungry. When I would fall off the wagon and eat a wagon full of junk, it would really show in my rapid weight gain. I am hoping keto is my ultimate solution to managing this and getting myself set up for success for the rest of my life.

Okay. Back to my Saturday weekly weigh ins. Day 6 of Keto. Planning out all the meals for next week. I will shop tomorrow and start making this my new WOE. I can't argue with the results and that, coupled with all of the success stories here, have convinced me that this is they way to reach my target weight. I have plenty of fat for my body to feast on for energy.
I worked out this morning - it felt a little different. I had to go to the gym before I ate breakfast or hydrated enough after waking up, so it felt a little odd. I will plan better next time. I got a full 8 hours of sleep, though, so it was totally worth it! I came home and ate breakfast, so all is right with the world, now.
Hunger is getting better. Last night I was actually stuffed. I need to pay better attention, eat slower, and stop when sated. It will go a long way in the long term.
Have a great weekend everyone!
