I am done losing weight or even caring if I lose any more.
That's not a negative statement, nor one of defeat. This is pure joy! I am very happy with me these days. According to the BMI index (please, no flaming, I know the BMI is bogus but my doctor likes to talk about it) I am still in the "overweight" range at 26.1, but I am so so far from the 41.2 that my doc has in his charts from a year ago, that we can all be happy with this number.
As for me, I'm 55, married for 30 years to a man who loved me at my largest and has never seen me the size I am now. He too has lost over 90lbs so we are brand new people as we approach our retirement ages. We have settled on the low-carb way of eating for the rest of our lives and we are both comfortable with our standard fare.
Thanks to my local Goodwill, I have an entire closet full of clothes that I love and wear comfortably. I discovered $1-Day where everything of a certain tag color is $1, no matter what. I have name brand clothes and shoes (I lost a SHOE SIZE! Who even knew?) that I got for $1. Since I am now a true size Medium, the selection in my size is phenomenal! So much more fun that picking 1 of the 5 items in size 3X.
So I said all that to say that I probably won't be posting as much in the future. I may (or I may not) lose those final 7 pounds to put me at the goal I arbitrarily picked when I started a year ago. It is a number that would make my BMI 25, or "normal". Do I really care? No. One of the many things I've learned on this journey is that numbers are suggestive. My number on the scale, the BMI numbers, and even clothing size numbers are all superfluous. What matters is that I can wear nice clothes, look good in them, feel good living my life, and most of all, be healthy.
I have a tiny blog I started when all my friends kept asking me the same questions about how in the world I managed to lose all that weight. It's nothing professional and probably never will be, but if you want to follow my Keto journey and see some of the lessons I learn(ed) along the way, here's the link:

Even though I haven’t met my goal, I find myself in a form of maintenance mode. I am still about 8 lbs above my goal and the weight is still coming off slowly. However, I do you find more and more difficulty logging my food. I tend to eat the same things over and over now, and I know pretty much what my carb count is for the day. About the only time I feel the need to log anything anymore, is when I create a new recipe.
I will have to say, I am thankful every day for all the weight that I’ve been able to lose. And for all the changes it made in my life!

So... how long do you stay in the vicinity of the same weight before you officially call it a "stall" and start taking other measures? I can't decide if I'm stalled or just trickling downward because I'm close to my goal. Even though I track my weight here every week or two, I am a daily-weigher and I track numbers like a statistician. I have only lost 5.2 lbs since the first of the year and even then, things were moving very slowly. I attributed that to the holidays and that may well have been the cause at that time. However, today I weigh exactly the same as I did last Monday, and the Monday before. Granted, in the meantime, between Mondays, I've seen a plethora of other numbers (up and down as much as 2 lbs), but I seem to be unable to "bounce" below 154.
Anyway, enough groaning. Not a good day for a fast day (stuck inside, working from home on a snowy day) so I'll be eating normal Keto today and maybe fasting later in the week to see if I can break thru this sticking point. Happy Monday!

Except for the TWO uncommonly large pieces of birthday cake with honking dollops of vanilla ice cream, I pretty much stuck to plan and didn't suffer horrible consequences.
Mentally I'm sort of already in maintenance mode, eating-wise; but I still *do* want to lose those "last 10 lbs". (Sounds so cliche! LOL)
I'm just happy to be where I am after this long struggle and if I can ditch those last 10 in the next 2-3 weeks, I will have met my goal in 1 year. My anniversary date is March 6 so that's my hope.
Happy President's Day! (yes I know it was yesterday).
Light Moment~
Teacher: Does anyone know what President's Day is about?
Kathy: That's the day the President comes out of the White House and if he see's his shadow, we'll have another year of bullsh*t.
