I haven't written in my journal for a few days. I have had some significant weight loss lately and i'm afraid to jinx it. Of course, significant is relative... but i have lost over my goal for the week and enough extra to make up for the slow month i just went through. I have been pretty excited :) I'm heavy enough that this first 20 lbs doesn't show. I didn't do any measuring, i figure over time i will be smaller, no need to horrify myself with reality. I can feel some changes though (other than my great attitude) My shoes are loose. I guess I really was eating too much Chinese buffet :) And I feel different when I lay down. I am a tummy sleeper - sortof one knee out half on my side. I feel different when I'm nestling in for sleep.
The last time i made an effort to lose weight I lost 40 lbs (yes, I gained it all back +5). It took all 40 lbs before someone said to me "hey, looks like someone is losing weight" just some nice guy in the plant at work. I'm looking forward to hearing that again.

Wow, yesterday was a doozy. I was feeling so good, the scale is moving right along, i'm setting goals, making plans, looking forward to vacation time and how much weight 'i will have gone by then, blah blah blah. THen I'm starving all day. I had eaten my snacks and lunch by noon and was hungry again by two o'clock. I come home starving snacked safely a bit then had dinner early. By this time it was in my head rather than my bdoy and I could not get satisfied. I had too many carbs, too much peanut butter, and finally gave in and had a bowl of cereal. It was almost like I was trying to sabatoge myself.
Today is a new day, I have a carb headache, and I didn't get enough sleep. But I will not be hungry. I will eat a better breakfast, take extra snacks, and a heavier lunch. So there.

I have found a fast food solution I can live with for those times when my day doesn't go as planned and I need to get something to eat. I go to BurgerKing and get a couple of the Buck Doubles with only mayonaise and some water. I eat the meat out of the sandwiches and throw the bread away. Its pretty good! then I can run my errands or go back to work and I don't starve from not eating and then binge. It only costs $2. If you go to the BK website, you can choose a sandwich and customise it anyway you like, including getting rid of the bread and it gives you the nutritional info so you can easily add it to your food diary. Of course, this wouldn't work at all for vegitarians...
BTW, i picked up a line from a Wendy's commercial that I use at office snack gatherings and friend cookouts that cracks people up (I guess they don't remember the commercial) and answers the comments I get when I turn down sweets or questioning looks regarding my food choices. I ablsolutely straight faced say "I'm a meatatarian" Offered no no foods usually get a "No thanks, I'm trying to quit"
Isn't it amazing how good the loss of 5 lbs makes you feel?

Had a rough day yesterday. Did ok food wise in comparison to my before life. I'm thinking two months ago i would have eaten everything in the house and gone out for more. Today is a new day, and although i didn't get much sleep, I'll put on my happy face and go to work and do what i got to do. And maybe have a little extra coffee :)

I am setting a birthday weightloss goal and am makeing it difficult, way overthinking it :) I want to accomplish something but I don't want unreasonable expectations. SO... after roughly 6 weeks on plan to get a feel for how I am doing, I am going for a goal of 1.5 lbs a week (average) for the next 16 weeks. That would be a 24 lb loss by my birthday. Not very impressive but hopefully doable.
