It's amazing how just a little inattention can make a person balloon up!
I had previously lost about 20 pounds on Atkins, over a year ago, and had maintaining well... Until Dec, when I decided to donate a kidney to my brother, who happens to live on the other side of the US.
Well, while I was there, there was nothing but resturant food available, and I was always being treated to dinner by my father. Since I was going into surgery in a week, he felt I "deserved" to have desserts with every meal, and almost every meal was Italian (thats what ALL the resturants in the area were).
Then, of course, there were complications in surgery, plus a whole lot of nonsense. The result of this kidney donating trip? I gained back the 20 pounds I had lost, plus an extra 7. (I'd kept that off for a year before that!)
Now I'm all healed and ready for a change! Time around, not only am I going to just lose that 20, I'm going to my goal weight, my pre-pregnancy weight from 5 years ago. No, the 50 pounds doesn't scare me in the slightest, actually, having that much to lose just encourages me more!
