Health Update: Many of you know that in November of this year I suffered almost all signs of a heart attack. I praise God it was not one especially since I found out in Rwanda they do not have the capability of treating you for one. I went for a follow up from my ER visit to a heart doctor who had practiced heart medicine in America for 45 years and now came back to his home country. He is very good and explains things very well. I went for much blood work. It showed my cholesterol elevated but not enough for medicine. Type II diabetes but he is giving me until the end of June, beginning of July to get retested for the type II and until December for cholesterol. I have lost 28 pounds since November. I have removed all added salt which amazes me the things I can eat without salt now. I made a special seasoning mix that helps even in my cooking. Exercise is difficult as I have rheumatoid arthritis. So that is an area of hurts to move, but if you don't move you have a harder time moving. SO I have been determined to just make sure there is more movement . Stretches every day I started from the bed , now I can do from the chair. I actually started to run. I am up to 12 minutes and no I do not do it outside. It would be quite a spectacle for a very large white woman running on our dirt roads. I also have started to walk. I am on blood pressure medicine and lopresser for the angina. I am praying after I lose a lot of weight that some of these things will be turned around. The doctor was very happy that I have not had any other incidents since the one in November. I am learning to cook with wheat and very careful with portions, etc. Please continue to pray for the desire to make sure I get my exercises done and for everything to be reduced. I joined a challenge on FS in which you needed to increase your exercise. Yesterday and today I increased my jogging to 15 minutes and did a mile. Today my speed was faster . SO pumped. A few months ago I had difficulty standing for longer periods of time. I use to even cook sitting down. I started by one minute, then 2, etc. I know it isn't much but I feel so good that I can do something I never thought I could nor did I ever have a desire to do.
