Looks like the salad for lunch and salad for dinner idea is working. :) About time I start seeing some weight loss. I came up with the idea, because I was looking into OTC weight loss aids. Found a guy reviewing some on YouTube, which gave me the idea of something more natural like salads. The guy bought a weight loss supplement and it didn't work at all for him. Then the same guy bought a different weight loss aid and said it was more like taking a laxative. That is what reminded me of the salad I used to eat for super, when I needed to take off a few pound when I was younger. Decided to go back to eating my Waldorf salad with romaine lettuce for super. It keeps the pipes clean; even though, I have never had a problem with going to the bathroom. The salad for lunch, is more of a creative venture so it varies by what I put in it. Still have an egg and toast for breakfast and sometimes add popcorn to my lunch. I'm very happy, just hope the pounds keep melting off. I guess what I really want to say is to never give up. Just keep trying different meal plans and see what works for you.

Yesterday, I was having so much trouble with my hip and I felt so heavy. I weighed myself yesterday in the evening and saw 150 lbs. I started to get disappointed, but told myself not to give up. I analyzed my caloric intake and noticed a pattern of the calories alternating each day. The calories were still low and the meals were nutritious. No real junk food like candy or cake. I told myself I have only been going back and doing full fledged salads for just a few days and reminded myself about the documentary I watched. It said it can take your body a while to respond to change and can take at least 12 hours, before it will start to burn fat due to exercise. I also told my self that weight fluctuates and you will weigh more as the day progresses than in the morning. Add to that we are having a heat wave. I weighed myself again this morning and I'm happy to say I'm 147.9 lbs. Yaaaaaa! Those few little pounds matter when it comes to having a lot less pain. I plan on having carrot sticks with my salad today. I will be making hubby some sponge cake, but I'm telling myself not to partake or I'll undo my progress. I could do something for myself with the frozen bananas and frozen blueberries....Sounds like "nice-cream" is just what I need later on today.

So of course I had to take a whole cooked ham out of the freezer, which is a little too much for the 2 of us. What did I do? I found a bread machine recipe for ham and cheese stuffed rolls, which I am in the process of making. Thank goodness it states that you can freeze the rolls, so I can use some will power tonight to eat only one roll. The rest of the ham will be made into ham and eggs. I'm still going to stick to my large salad tonight. I find the fiber to be much more filling than the protein, but that's just me. Made it through yesterday eating a salad for lunch and a salad for supper. For the first time yesterday, hubby said he was impressed with me because I outlasted him doing yard work. It made me happy, but in reality I was just watering the plants, the garden, and putting the grass clippings around the tomatoes. Hubby did the hard part of mowing the lawn.
