Timing is everything...
Hi all or whomever may see this. New to this "organized" attempt at taking back control of my weight and fitness. I'm later in life now and allowed myself to get horribly out of shape, frighteningly out of breath and overweight. I even knew it was happening but love of food and an easy, non physical job has done a number over the past 15 years.
I generally follow a low carb (not no carb) way of eating. This program allows a lot more carbs from sugars, flours and other foods that I consider high carb. It is very difficult to not feel like I'm "cheating" if I eat to the allowable or recommended numbers. My protein numbers are always high.
Bigger, though, is trying to force myself in a time schedule for eating and exercising. I do only eat in an 8 hour (or even 6 hour) window so that's the easy part. My problem is that I get hungry at different times each day and I only eat when I'm hungry. I have never liked eating first thing in the morning. However, my loosey-goosey eating schedule is playing havoc with trying to stick to a general time to exercise. I want to exercise, for example, between 4 and 5 in the afternoon/evening but then my stomach is too upset to eat dinner. (My hubby and I have turned into "those" people who like to have dinner done and the kitchen closed down by 6!) Forcing abdominal muscles to work that thought they had hit easy street makes them fight back and make me queasy. Jerks!
Sorry for rambling. Just looking for a sounding board so that this 6 month goal/journey I have planned for myself is not an everyday crapshoot of how I will eat and exercise.
