60 hours into fast and have lost all the carb water gained since the last fast ended - about 9.5 lb. I entered the FS calculated maintenance RDI for my weight and activity level and stayed under that. I gained about 3 lb a day for three days then lost 2 lb the 4th day. It was interesting to watch. You can really carry a lot of water when you have this much fat. I'm looking forward to losing more body fat over the next 5 days. I am finding that fasting is surprisingly easy now that I'm adapted to it. Dr Boz recommends a weekly 72 hour fast for 8 weeks "to correct flabby arms." She is really big on keto with fasting. I prefer Dr Mindy Pels because she is all about cyclical fasting and including a variety of food including potatoes and sweet potatoes. Her view is that fasting holds the key to robust health with obesity as only one of the conditions it corrects. She wrote "Fast Like a Girl," which recognizes that women's hormone cycles impact all health markers including blood sugar, cortisol, insulin and lipids. She also recommends refeeding with bone broth, probiotics, veg, and protein staggered one hour apart. I'll try doing it that way on Monday.
