What a wonderful birthday! Three of our four daughters, and their spouses, came to dinner. (The 4th lives out of town.) Plus my mom and step-dad, and friend Muffin. Hubby and I served buffet style, so a casual family evening. Lovely, lovely, lovely evening. While I stayed within my calories for the day... a huge amount of them were not healthy calories. Unless you think that champagne and birthday cake count as healthy!
Only "sour" note, although maybe that's not quite the right word: Hubby challenged the sons-in-laws to eat hot peppers from the garden, raw. Which of course they did. I can eat hot things - I mean really HOT things - but I can't eat these. MEN!
Went for a 6 mile run this morning to get me back on track. Am now headed to one of our two rental houses to help get it ready to rent. Had a tenant for 28 years that just moved out. One of the best neighborhoods in town. When they moved in to the house in 1986, until they moved out, they paid the same rent every month. A good deal for them, and we had thought a good deal for us. We are not sure anymore! They trashed the house. (The parents divorced, and dad moved out a few years ago. Recently the mom remarried. We now believe that the youngest girls, who are early 20s, were living there w/o parent.) Dog urine soaked walls (animals must have stood on couch and did their business down the walls), urine soaked hardwood and tile (with porous-grout) floors. Kitchen cabinets have a lot of doors pulled off hinges - and it is filthy. So, we are going to have to deconstruct the house quite a bit, and build it back up. Being a construction worker burns calories... right?
Sigh...

Ok, back to where I was before our anniversary trip. Onward down to the next goal of 135 by month end!

The good, the bad, and the "oh well". The good: Have lost almost all of the vacation weight. This morning was 140.4 - so almost back to where I was. And then "onward" to my goal weight! The bad: went for a run yesterday. Without water. It didn't appear that hot, and the first 4 miles I was flying! But the last 4 I was dragging. I think I had a touch of heat exhaustion as I felt sick and hot. So I took it easy the rest of the day. I should know better. As for the "oh well" - it's my birthday. I don't mind getting older... as it's better than the alternative... but dang "54" sounds old.

I ate and drank poorly while on vacation. It was worth it. But I am back at it and intend to be 135 by month end. Birthday cake on the 14th will make that challenge even more difficult....but I like challenges!

A quick update on all that has been happening:
1. I really dislike the IFIT wearable fitness tracker. Ugh. Will take it back.
2. Ran the half marathon with daughter. She did not train so we walked part but still finished in under 3 hours. I want to do another one Soon.
3. Who knows. Will weigh in on Tuesday. Hope it is ok!
I will write again soon.
