22 February 2016

Saturday is usually my "low scale day" simply because I sleep in, and weigh later in the morning than I usually do. So I went down almost 2lbs. The today I was back up. >.<

Food wise, I was pretty good all weekend. Saturday I was a little low on calories due to a migraine in the afternoon, but still made smart choices. And I have left over baked chicken, and slow roasted pork tenderloin in the fridge for lunches this week. Really looking forward to some of the pork and some mash potatoes for lunch. Sooo good.

Got my new bike Friday afternoon, and I did take it out for a 1 mile ride with my daughter riding her own bicycle. Saturday I took my new cruiser to the local bike shop (we have a really fantastic bike shop here!!) They installed new brake pads on the front and rear of my bike, then made adjustments so they worked properly. They also tightened up the pedals, and made sure everything was working properly. Paid 15.00 for all of it. ^.^ And I had my daughter with me who was asking the guys questions a mile a minute and they were very patient with her and answered everything she asked. :)

Unfortunately I had a migraine after lunch and couldn't ride my bike Saturday. I did take it out on Sunday for a 1.25 mile ride. Seems bike riding is harder on my leg muscles than walking. O.O 2 miles walking is nothing compared to that 1.25 miles riding. The uphill parts were really killer, and I ended up walking some. I'm hoping the weather will hold off long enough today to get a walk and a ride in after work. I'm thinking I'll walk the first mile/ mile and a half, then bike another mile at the end. Figure if I put in a little work every day, then I can go further and further. :)

Just a slight movement on the scale. :) But I'll take it. Walked 2 miles after work yesterday. Saw a pair of horses, and a very affectionate yellow lab. lol. Robins are out full force right now here, and quite a few doves as well. And apparently my phone rang while I was walking...didn't even hear it over my earbuds... must have looked like an idiot to the other path walkers. lol. One of my friends asked me to pick up her 3 oldest kids from after school care while she got her youngest from daycare. The little one had projectile vomited at daycare. O.O So I treated all the kiddos to Waffle House. I had nothing prepped to feed a herd of children. I had a small bowl of grits, 3 pieces of bacon *extra crispy* and wheat toast dry. Oh and Cooooooffeeeeee. 4 kids= coffee at dinner. :3 lol. All in all Delicious.

On another note kinda digging breakfast the last few days. Greek yogurt, topped with blackberries, chopped raw almonds, and 2 tablespoons of old fashioned oats. So good. The oats and almonds give some much needed crunch and texture. :) I'm low on berries right now though, need to pick up some more at the store. As well as some sliced turkey breast from the deli.

So Instead of walking this afternoon I'm going to get a new to me bicycle. Schwinn cruiser. It's teal with peacock feathers on it. Paying $40.00 for it, and I'll have to pay another $20 to get new brake pads put on it at the local bike store. Also want them to look over it and make sure the wheels are okay too. So it looks like I'll be bike riding this weekend. :3

Just easing into healthy eating. The last two weeks, I've slowly added healthier options into the pantry and fridge, and have swapped all my snacks for protein bars, fruit, yogurt, and almonds. My family has gotten into the habit of eating out 2-3 nights a week. With working full time, picking up a 6yr old from after school care, paying bills, grocery shopping, 2 dogs, 3 rabbits, and a parakeet, its hard to fit cooking in every night. If I don't get meat in the crock pot at lunch time, we're eating at almost bedtime if I cook, and so we usually eat out. I know sodium is super high when that happens.

And getting exercise in is even harder. >.< This was much easier when I was a stay at home mom. So baby steps. Make a small change here. Try to get a little exercise in before I pick Puddin up if I have a chance. If I can go straight home from work at 4, then I have an hour before I have to go to after school care.

And on top of it all, I'm not antibiotics and steroids right now, which always makes me retain water. >.< And I stay hungry, more like hangry. Hungry and angry. lol. A few more days and the Meds should be kicked in enough I'm not feeling yucky anymore. So we shall see.

Thanks for reading my random thoughts. Wish me luck.
