Despite the typical fibro-flares that knock me off my feet, I still managed to lose some weight. I'm still eating my veggies, meats, eggs, dairy, and a small amount of grains, but avoid most commercially processed foods and especially HFCS and all the other junk they stick in food (I mean, really, HFCS in a can of Del Monte stewed tomatoes?!). The big difference in the last 6 months is I just don't eat as much as I use to--I feel full with much less food than I did a year ago.
Slow and steady wins the race!

Well, still chugging along. Lost some pounds, but haven't been sticking well to my diet. I drink a lot of water, which I think helps. Struggling with fibro everyday, but that's nothing new. Still practicing tai chi, and also looking into yoga.

Things are going pretty much as I expected, so far, including the setbacks experienced during the past few weeks. I did start tai chi again, but not on a regular basis yet. Walking more, but still not like I was before needing a cane. Some days I feel like I'm recovering, but most days I feel awful physically, and it's too easy to use this as an excuse--everyone will understand and won't lecture me, but I shouldn't take advantage of that. I need to push myself without going overboard. A difficult balance for me to maintain, especially since once-upon-a-time I could do whatever activities I wanted to do. Goal for the coming days is get back into a regular routine of tai chi and walking--and clean house!

Most of the weight I lost was likely water. I was bedridden for several weeks, and puffy from fluid retention. Because I upped my fluid intake, I expected several pounds to drop in the first week. This past week I have been slowly working into resuming my activities, so extremely light activity--a few slow walks, light housekeeping, light deskwork and one shopping trip--no driving, and sadly, no tai chi. I need the cane less each day--stairs are still a problem, and by evening the pain is greater after moving about during the day. If I continue improving I'm planning to restart tai chi soon. :)

Time to take off the pounds. I've been having trouble keeping my weight down because I'm not active enough; I have fibromyalgia, which makes exercising a challenge. I recently started tai chi, and I walk about 1 mile every day (hoping to gradually increase the distance I walk). Plan on drinking a lot of water and staying away from sweets. I had a set back last week; now using a cane, again, to get around. Even so, and I'm determined to work through the pain to get the weight off and lower my bad cholesterol levels (without taking the statins my PA is pushing).
