I'm a 50-yr-old mother of 3, grandmother of 2 (daughters didn't ask permission to shoot me into that status!). I've struggled with my weight almost all of my life. I love to laugh and have fun and try to keep life lighthearted for everyone, but struggle with self-esteem issues that make me afraid to take the first step in relationships because of fear of rejection. But after I feel "safe", you can't shut me up! :-p

Oatmeal.....
If you're on phase 2 by now, you can oats for breakfast. And I've read that you can do steel-cut oats in the crockpot overnight, lcleaner, so you might want to check that out. If you're on phase 1, you can eat leftover dinner for breakfast. You could roll a slice of meat & cheese together. I love Greek yogurt. I get 0% fat plain and stir in a drop or two of vanilla, a packet of Splenda, and about 1/4 tsp. of cinnamon. Really yummy! You can drink a can of V-8, too.

I need low-carb/SB Diet lunch ideas
Are you on Phase 2? If so, you can roll just about whatever you like up in a whole wheat tortilla for a great lunch wrap--taco stuff, lean sliced deli meats & cheese & romaine lettuce with a little ranch dressing or light mayo (Krafts light mayo with olive oil is really tasty). How about chili? Send either a thermos of that, or a covered storage dish that can be microwaved. Load it with lean meat and beans and it's a hearty meal that will stay with him well.

If you're still on phase 1 and can't have the grains yet, you can still do wraps, just use large lettuce leaves rather than tortillas, and you can still do the chili.

Nervous to buy new clothes, can the weight loss stay off?
MissPam, I'm a newbie here, but I totally know where you're coming from. Three years ago, I lost 71 lbs and was determined to keep it off, so got rid of all my "fat clothes"(sent some of it to a friend who was several pounds behind me on the weightloss journey). I thought that would force me to stay in the smaller clothes. Problem is, I stayed away from the scale, and during the winter when I was in loose sweaters, etc. enough weight crept on that in the spring, suddenly I found I couldn't wear any of the "small" clothes. But I think my mistake was to not stay aware, accountable to myself at least. I wasn't at my goal weight, but I was at a place where I felt good about myself, decided to just take it easy for awhile...yeah, right. But I think that you CAN keep it off, if you just make the commitment to either weigh once a week or have a pair of "skinny jeans" or something that you try on once a week. When those don't fit or the scale is up 5 lbs, then it's time to get back on track.

You deserve the new clothes. You NEED the new clothes (don't want any wardrobe malfunctions at work!). Goodwill got me thru the slide through sizes I didn't stay in long. Some of those stores have a GREAT selection at rock-bottom prices.
Good luck!
