I'm a 2nd grade teacher in Eastern Kansas. I have just bought a new house (yay!!) and my boyfriend has just been deployed for 400 days (not yay). I have 2 cats, a great family, a great church, I love my job, I like books and art...and fancy pretentious beers, which is probably a key reason that I have gained weight. :-)

Aw...I want a buddy!
HAHAHA! Thomas, you're killing me. Good news...I listen to 80's music when I work out, too! I don't know if I can deal with the food network thing though...I prefer Law and Order and Top Model. We'll try to work something out, though.
How do Cancers and Virgos work together as diet buddies? Does anyone know? Smile

Aw...I want a buddy!
I am a 26 (almost 27) year old teacher in Kansas, and I just started phase one of fat smash Monday. I come from a social group that's not so particular about what we eat, so I would love to have a few people I could keep in regular contact with through the site that can help me keep accountable. Message me, or something! Thanks!

Tips for Eating Out??
When I know I'll be eating out, I try to drink water or green tea and have a light snack before going. Then, I'll try to psych myself up before actually entering the restaurant, thinking about the healthier things I know that restaurant has that taste good. That way, I don't go in with my mind on french fries dipped in ranch dressing and a Coke. Some places have those little "healthy option" symbols next to some of their items...scan through those first, without even looking at what else is on the menu. Typically you can find something that you'll enjoy, that's not going to completely ruin your diet. OR...order what you want, but get a to-go box before you start in on your meal. Put a large portion of it in the box to take home for later, or for a family member...restaurant portions are HUGE, and it's so hard to stop eating once you get started. Hope this helps! Man I love eating out.
