Just finished first month body comp focused training and this is two weeks of weight loss. Fat % down from 17.6% May 18th DEXA Scan results to 16.2% as of today. Progress pics showing some great results after a month (Most notable back and glutes) so super happy about that and not really focused on the scale at this stage but more so fat and muscle %. Coolest thing about this phase is that aim eating more calories than before and doing less cardio and still losing body fat 😊

Really seeing a difference in my body composition after 4 weeks and feeling good. Not a runner, this was just one of those fitness bucket list things I wanted to do given I couldn’t run the length of myself, even as a child. Ran my first charity 5K today and also cleared to swim by my surgeon and so thoroughly enjoyed that 5x this week 😊

REMINDER: The scale does not tell the full story! Up 7.9 lbs since surgery, but -0.5 fat and +6.5 muscle, total body fat -1.3% in last three weeks. Body looks smaller than it did and more defined, clothes looser. BMI says I’m slightly overweight 😂

Haven’t been recording since surgery + refocusing efforts on body composition/weight training and not sure how often I will but will when there’s something worth recording.
Reminder that the scale does not tell the full story! I’ve gained on the scale since beginning March, HOWEVER, 1.5 lb gain is implants, -0.5 loss fat & +6.5 lbs muscle.
RESULT? My body appears smaller, more toned and clothes are looser. Body fat % dropped from 17.6% to 16.3% within the last 3 weeks.
Psychologically this has been a challenge to adjust to. After 2.5 years, 250 lbs down, chasing the scale became second nature. Retraining my brain to not obsess over having the lowest number and increase my calorie intake to fuel my body for better workouts is a slow process but I’m getting there. Posting pic so you can see what I mean 😊
