Had a great day today, food is on track, feeling good, stress is pretty non-existent (today anyway!). Good doc appt yesterday. Stress test next week (Thurs & Fri.) Getting crown on my tooth later this month and not looking forward to that, but have to get it done.

Day two of exercise at doc's insistence - CHECK!
Walked at lunch at a pretty good clip for 1/2 hour (that met her requirement of 1/2 an hour of SOMETHING 6 days/wk.)
Didn't stop there, DH was mowing the lawn when I got home so I got things ready for supper and then hit the treadmill.
Clipped off 1.5 miles in 30 min at an incline of 8.
I hit a personal best yesterday of 8078 steps. I have already bypassed that today as I am up to 8598 right now, will most likely pass 9000 steps today. Yippee!

Screw my scale! I think it might be busted as the readout looks like the colors of a kalaidescope, doesn't look good and it is only about 8 months old! The other indication is that I weighed 4 lbs less at my doc yesterday than I weigh on my scale and we are never that far off of each other. Hummmmm, that may be good news! Don't really want to run out and get another scale. Think I will wait until my appt next week and see where I land, then may need to head to Target for a new one.

Gotta go start the grill and get the swordfish on. Yummy marinade of keylime juice, EVOO, fresh grated garlic, fresh grated ginger and a dash of Ponzu. Add a hunk of grilled olive garlic ciabatta bread and a ton of broccoli. Maybe a skinny cow tonight if I feel like it which I have already planned for but may not eat.

Hope you are all well tonight! Will check on everyone after supper!

Had a very informative appt with my cardiologist today. Pleasantly surprised that her scale weighed me at almost 4 lbs less than my home scale. Scheduled for a nuclear stress test next Thurs & Fri (a two day affair). She did give me the OK to walk 1/2 hr each day (no jogging), continue with our weekend bike riding, light weights, no tennis yet, swim as much as I want. I am good with that, not sure I would be doing much more than that anyway. I have to do something 6 days per week for at least 1/2 hour. OK, I can do this.

DH and I went to the first farmers market in our town this afternoon, pretty good turnout. Picked up fresh beets which I will roast, strawberries, raspberries, and a loaf of some awesome olive ciabatta bread, fresh greens. We walked around there for about 1/2 an hour in 90+ heat. We then went to the park and did two laps around there, I think about 1 mile. (Will have to track it on RunKeeper on my iPhone tomorrow.) DH said he will do this with me every day after work.

Got home and decided it was just too hot to turn the grill on so we opted for tuna fish sandwiches instead which was fine with me.

Time to plan meals for tomorrow, check in with my peeps, shower and then hit the hay!

We had such a fantastic healthy eating-exercise fun filled weekend!! Beach day on Saturday included biking, walking and swimming, rainy Sunday of laundry, cleaning the house and watching old movies, today was full of bike riding, gardening, & swimming.

Some fun stuff worth mentioning:
-We ventured down a road today on our bikes and discovered a Driving Range close by. Might be fun thing to do some weekend. We do have a nine hole course down the street that I drive by every day but didn't realize they also had a driving range as well. Maybe time to dig the clubs out of the basement and dust them off.

-We stopped for a water break during our ride and 3 different people asked about our electric bikes. Happy to inform all who ask and refere them to my bike shop. One gal asked about my BMF on my arm. She was wearing a heart monitor but hated the chest strap. We got to talking and by the time we were done, she had written down www.BodyMedia.com and www.fatsecret.com. Told her my online name and hope to see her here some day.

-We took a detour down to the lake to check out the boats and see what was happening down there today. We don't have a boat but DH wishes he had one, keep dreaming honey!!

-We stopped by my friend's place down the street. She has a small farm and raises goats, makes goat cheese, goat milk yogurt, goat milk soap. Actually, all things goat! (No Meat for sale!) We talked for awhile, I pulled some grass and fed the baby goats. I did take some pics on my iPhone and will download them later. Bought some fresh picked strawberries and a container of truffle goat cheese. OMG, was delicious on a crispy flax cracker for lunch!

-Got home and decided a little gardening was in order while hubby vacummed the pool. I weeded, pruned, fed and thoroughly watered everything! My tomatos are looking lovely, basil is getting big and my herb pot with lettuce mixed in is bountiful!

-Took a swim, made chicken thighs on the grill etc. It is almost 8pm and I am bushed!

Big week ahead, cardiologist appointment on Wednesday to go over the results of my ultrasound and talk about scheduling my nuclear stress test.
I am praying for word of having a healthy heart.

I hope all my American buddies celebrated our Independence in a spectacular way this weekend! God Bless Our Troops for all they do!!

Feeling great this morning after yesterdays full day of activities of bike riding, swimming, nature walking at the beach. A bit sun burned but still feeling good. Going to be a stormy day today so planning to get laundry done, clean house, prep some food for BBQ tomorrow.

Bought a few new food items this week that haven't had in the house for ages and are waistline friendly.
Steel Cut Oats - found them in gluten free so picked up a bag, Bob's Red Mill makes them. Some are cooking for breakfast right now!!
Mangos - They are delicious cut up in cottage cheese and a little granola. Great fat burning food! Planning for lunch today.
Flax Seeds - I have been using flax meal for a year but the seeds are for a different use, they add great crunch to morning cereal, oatmeal, etc. Great for fiber and digestion.
Arizona Diet Blueberry Green Iced Tea - Now you all know I am not a fan of buying iced tea and prefer to make my own home brewed, but this is a great tea if you must buy. No sugar and very little sodium. On sale yesterday 2 gallons for $5!! This is the only one of their teas I like as all others seem to be loaded with sugar...yuck!

Going to make some homemade pizza tonight w/ceasar salad, bought fresh whole wheat dough and lot's of fresh toppings. Plan on making them on the grill if it is not storming by then. There is always the oven if need be.

Hope you are all having a great holiday weekend!

Had to Edit and add a picture of this yummy pizza!!
