Happy Wednesday - 1st of June

Where on earth has this year gone so far? Time seems to be flying by which is OK as long as you feel you made the most of every day and you were the best person you can be every day.

I did my monthly wrap up last night so if you missed it you can check it out in yesterdays entry. Had a decent month all in all.

Spent yesterday doing tons of planting: lettuce, tomatos, basil, rosemary, thyme, assorted flowers in 12 hanging pots. Power washed the front of the house and decorated my porch with rugs, chairs, small tables etc. Made a delicious dinner of shrimp, scallops and clams on the grill with the last of the macaroni salad. Holiday weekend now over and new month is here to boot. Time to get back on the straight and narrow for June and work on the target macro goals for carbs (needs to be a bit lower) and protein (needs to be a bit higher).

Expecting bad thunderstorms throughout the day so looks like I won't need to water plants tonight, yeah!

Have a delightful day everyone!

Happy Last Day of May

I hope you all had a marvelous Memorial Day weekend, attended plenty of BBQ's and appropriately remembered our Veteran's and currently serving troops.

I am going to do my monthly roll up tonight rather than waiting until the morning. I realize I did not do a roll up in May due to my brother's passing and my being MIA from here for a few weeks. So, this roll up will be since my last in April.

Here are a few things my numbers tell me:

1) I lost 7 lbs since April 1st per the scale, but actually I lost 12 lbs of fat weight and gained 5 lbs of lean muscle mass!! Yippee!!! I find this to be a much better reflection of how I am getting healthier.
2) I lost 6 more inches from waist, thighs and bust for a total of 28 inches to date.
3) My BMI went down 1% from 43 to 42. Still extremely obese, but only 7 lbs away from just being obese!
4) Just recalculated my RDI which was at 1900, now down to 1800 for June. Goal was 1300 calorie intake, hit that one at 1283 average.
5) Burning more calories on the average per day than April, up by 200. Like that!
6) My micro nutrients were on target to goal but my macro's were a little off. Need to get in more protein. Goal was 130g/day but I averaged out to only 106/day. Carb goal was 80g/day but ended up at 100g/avg for the day. Dropping carb goal to 60g, protein at 130 and the rest in fat to make up to 1300 calories/day.
7) Had excellent physical this month, total cholesterol is down to 146 (acceptable range is 140-200) and triglycerides are down to 149 (acceptable range is anything under 150). Going to get a cardiac eval to include an ecocardiogram (shows the health of the structure of the heart) and also a stress test. Due to my genetic history and my brothers recent death, my doc was all on board with this. Had mamogram, all looks good there too!!
8) Bought our electric bikes this month, having a ball on them so far!
9) Going to ramp up my networking at the office and look for my next gig. Things look promising.
10) June will entail Father's Day BBQ at our place, getting pool swimmable, finish planting enough flowers to fill in the bare spots in the beds.

Well that about does it for my last couple of months. All in all, I am pleased with my results. Will keep trudging forward, tweaking goals as necessary month to month...not day to day!

Adios Amigos!!

Happy Monday

Weight is holding at 250 even thru this Memorial Day weekend. I am eating some foods that are not normally in my plan, but I am OK with it, recording it and all in all, not really off too badly in my macro and micro nutrients from where I really like to be. Will be back on the straight and narrow on June 1st. Starting to put together my monthly wrap up for tomorrow's entry, liking what I see so far! More on that tomorrow night!!

Had another day yesterday of high activity, ate 1377, burned 3482 for a net of -2105. I took 6420 steps which is more than Saturday. Took out the electric bikes yesterday and to used to them, great investment I must say. Busy today getting laundry done, reorganizing summer clothes, stripping beds and vacumming.

We are having a slightly stormy rainy day today. Although yesterday started out gloomy, it turned into a nice day so I am fine with this today. Getting lot's done indoors. Took tomorrow off as well for a nice long weekend so must get oil changed on the car, finish planting tomato plants and then lastly go and get a mani-pedi. Haven't even started opening the pool yet, not hot enough to swim yet anyway.

Damn I am a busy Babs!

Happy Sunday Everyone

I am going to say I hit my 250 mini-goal which I wanted to do by the end of the May. I am 250 even this morning after a huge day yesterday of yard work, mowing, deck washing....I am somewhat achey this morning, but a good ache! Took an advil before bed so surely I probably would have been immoble this morning if I had not. I consumed 1368 calories yesterday and burned 3691 for a net calorie reduction of -2323. I also did vigorous activity for 95 minutes!! I also slept for 10.25 hours with a 93% sleep efficiency. Another interesting stat is that when I first got my BMF and doing virtually no exercise I was burning 1.2 calories per minute while I was sleeping, I now average about 1.7 but last night after all that exercise yesterday I burned 2.2 calories per minute while sleeping. I will take it, yes you do continue to burn more calories at rest when you exercise more! (courtesy of my BMF readout this morning!) More stats coming on my 6/1 entry when I do my monthly wrap up.

Had burgers on the grill last night about 9pm after all yard work was done and we showered. Boy they were so good, maybe just because we were so exhausted!! DH did all the riding mower work and I did the push mowing, haven't pushed that thing in years but he doesn't have the strength to do it just yet. I liked it though and especially after seeing the positive results this morning!! Think I will make that a weekly event.

Somewhat over cast this morning, had to charge the bikes for 12 hours so didn't get to use them yesterday, yeah like we had the time anyway! Well they are charged and ready to go but probably not until tomorrow, the INDY 500 is on today. We went to it a few years ago, what a thrill!! Crossed that off my bucket list! I am not much into car racing, not a NASCAR fan, but I have always loved watching the INDY cars race. Must also watch French Open (tennis) today so I guess we will have multiple TV's on with split screens!!

Ribs on the menu for today, they are bathing in their rub as we type!

Well, must sign off and get another cup of this wonderful Italian roast java I made this morning, ultra strong!! (was thinking of you this morning, Bren!!- Salute)
