I have been all over the place, weight-wise and otherwise... played high school football at 215, in the military at 173, worked nationally at 185-200, then the slow gain set in ... 5 lbs per year. Do that for 10 years and you've gained 50 pounds. Do it for 15 and you're up 75. The heaviest I have been is 342. 'Way too big. So, a few years back, I took the cure. Vertical sleeve gastrectomy, followed by a lot of disciplined eating saw me back at 221. And then, dammit, I slacked off and started the 5/lb per year thing again. Wait. Stop. Enough. So, now I am back to paying attention, looking to get back to the 200-ish area where I feel really great. Actually, don't feel bad in the low 230s, but need to permanently step up (down?) with MUCH lower volume of quality protein, green veggies which I love, only a few occasional carbs.

I'm blessed with no serious or unmanageable health problems, and cursed with the metabolism of a Galapagos tortoise. Yet, I do want to be around for spouse, children, and grandchildren. So ...
