So far this month I have lost 6 pounds! It's amazing how encouraging it is to see even this small amount of progress. There are still a few things I really need to work on. One is that I hate feeling hungry. I feel like scarfing down anything within reach when I feel hungry. It takes a lot of will power to not grab the cookies or chips out of the pantry when I get home from work. I need to keep some healthy snacks in the car so I can curb the hunger a little before I get home. It is hard to eat enough snacks at my desk while I am working. Another problem I have is mustering up some energy after I come home, fix dinner, eat and clean up to plan out the next day of meals. The whole planning thing should get easier as I become more familiar with the healthy choices that I find satisfying and delicious. The BIGGEST problem though is the motivation to exercise. I still don't like all that movement. But this morning I think I found the perfect time to exercise between 7 and 8. That still leaves me just enough time to shower, get dressed, eat breakfast and pack my lunch. I was only 10 minutes late to work today. It's still unacceptable but it is an improvement and I was in a much better mood.

I had a very emotional day yesterday, but I did not overeat. Yay! I am now on day 4 and I am doing pretty well. I'm feeling very positive about my new healthy lifestyle.

I walked over a mile yesterday, but still have not touched the Wii since Sunday. I plan to do it tonight while my son is at basketball practice.

I'm baby-stepping. I kept track of everything I ate yesterday and filled in the activity stuff. I stopped at the grocery store on my way home last night to buy some healthier items to try to reduce the caloric intake for pretty much the same things. I do need to cut back on the snacking - or, at least, choose something besides Doritos and Chips Ahoy! Baby-stepping.

Here I go again. The difference this time is that I really want to be healthy for the rest of my life, not just for a few weeks or months. I feel like I'm ready to make a lifetime commitment to eating well and being more active every day.
I'm going to be counting calories and planning my meals and recording everything I eat. It grows tiresome after awhile, but I will keep at it because this is my new obsession and it's okay because it's a healthy obsession. Right?
I plan to walk my dog once or twice per day, depending on if I'm home in the afternoons. I plan to take over the laundry duties at home, which requires more up and down the stairs. My hubby will be very happy to relinquish, I know. And I plan to do my Wii Fitness workouts 4 days per week in the mornings that I am off work before everyone is awake. I don't need an audience.
