What I like about If It Fits Your Macros (IIFYM) is that I can have flexibility in what I eat (provided...wait for it...it fits my macros).
I usually don't avail myself of this feature during the week. Rather, I just eat from two sets of meals, alternating days. I find putting it on autopilot reduces friction, like the time/energy it takes to decide what to eat and make sure it's on plan. To use a bit of analogy, it's like some of those tech bros who just have 28 identical hoodies in the same color and wear that, rather than choosing an outfit.
Today I did use the flexibility, removing some supplemental shrimp and my usual noon meal of apples/tuna/peanut butter. That allowed me to add a reasonable portion of a cake for someone's birthday, along with the Gulf treat of 5 pounds of boiled crawfish.
Two positives: (1) My macros are still in line. This means no extra protein or reducing the next day to even things out. (2) Of more significance to me personally, I planned this in advance and didn't do it reactively or from impulse.

Four large eggs fried in 7 grams of butter with 45 g (1/10th of a pound!) of shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese. Served on two pieces of Nature's Own whole wheat bread and topped with 30 g of Herdez Salsa Verde.
Breakfast on chicken days.

Beef day dinner.
Ground beef (typically 3/4 lb 93/7)
A mix of legumes: 5/6 parts of the old bean trifecta (red kidney, black, pinto beans in equal parts), 1/6 part green or red lentils. Total dry weight: 1/5 lb.
12 oz Brussels sprouts
BONUS: 2 or 3 ounces of baby portabella mushrooms, sliced and seared.
I'm adding in some shrimp for protein, since this batch had less ground beef (.6 lb of the slightly fattier 90/10).
Talkin' bout that shrimp juice
hoooooooooh-ooooooooh-hoooooooo
