I hope the link above works. It goes to South Beach Diet's 7 Simple Strategies For Weight Loss Success, an article that I found very helpful & encouraging. Been a busy week, I'm exercising more & eating better, so expect good news at my weigh in on SUN. Take care everyone, & no matter what just keep chipping away at your food issues, developing a permanent healthy eating style, getting your weight down, whatever you may be dealing with, ~ WE CAN DO THIS! I just wanted to pop in while I'm on here & say that I'm still behaving myself food wise, & looking forward to seeing more pounds off at my next weigh-in this coming Sunday AM. Also trying to be more active, & have added more low-impact exercises, mostly upper body strength & flexibility, & a couple for back, hips & knees. I went out with hubby in my power chair & checked on our chickens, haven't said hi to them since we got the 6 new hens & 1 rooster a week or so ago. I wish I had held them more so they would be more tame, but my physical limitations pretty much prohibit that for now. Maybe with the next batch? On my way back across the yard from visiting my chickies I picked up some oak twigs for kindling for our wood stove. I love bein a red neck country girl, LOL! ~ Good exercise too! Have a great day everyone, & keep losing! ;)

YAY! Very stoked due to weight loss ~ FINALLY! Waiting now for my depression counselor to come for a home visit. Doing better with exercycle, & added some other low-impact exercises too. I have a neat slide-card thingie that has some great flexibility & strength training exercises. I have about a dozen sheets of other exercises, but using the slide card is much easier so just doing that for now. Even though they're low impact, it gives quite a work out. I can't even do all of them at one sitting, so I'm doing the Flex ones in AMs & the Strength ones in PMs. Feeling lots more positive now, & look forward to telling my counselor & Dr. about my progress. I don't consider myself a "control freak" where people are concerned, but I do hate it when I have situations or issues that I have no control over, or that I can't seem to at least work toward changing for the better. I was really getting depressed & starting to think the weight just wasn't going to come off at all, so I couldn't have my surgery, then my life is basically over, etc. ~ you get the picture. So these new developments came at just the right time, & I'm thankful to my Lord for helping me through each day, & for these & many other great blessings.

Grrr! My weight is the same again! I can't seem to get below 273 lbs! I got a diet menu from my new dietician. I bought a bunch of groceries that I need for the recipes. Saturday night's dinner was the 1st one on the plan. Hubby liked the sauteed Swiss chard, but I know he likes Swiss chard so no big revelation there. He didn't like the cherry & sweet red pepper topping for the baked chicken. This was quite disappointing since I paid good $ for frozen cherries & bottled roasted red peppers. I knew this was probably too exotic for his country boy appetite, so will try to find a low carb / cal recipe for chicken with a different fruity topping, probably something with apples, since they're cheap & we both like them. Sunday's supper was not on the diet menu, just Hillshire Fms smoked sausage, baked beans & cottage cheese. I'll probably have to modify some other recipes on the menu too, but the next one is a nachos-type, so I think hubby will be fine with that one. Live & learn, I guess. Right now I would be very happy with ANY weight loss. Hoping scale reading will be better next Sunday.
