Hello Everyone. I'm having problems with my computer, so haven't been on here for awhile as it is very frustrating. I haven't lost or gained over 1 lb in at least 3 weeks, & I missed an appointment for the YMCA last TUE, as I somehow hadn't put it onto my calendar. Grrr! But, I'm set to go there this coming TUE, & will try to make that a standing appt with them. I'm doing fine except for frustration about my computer problems. My Hubby is working today, but last night he came home from work with a lovely thornless mini rose for my Valentine's Day gift. Our love is still "in bloom", hee hee! Our oldest daughter will hopefully come up today, & maybe we will have a little "Girls Day Out". Her Hubby probably has to work today too, as he works at Walmart & this is a big sales day for them. I hope you all have a HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! Hugz, GLAMMER

Hi Everyone, sorry I've been MIA again. I took a workshop class called "Living Well With Chronic Conditions". It was in the city, 30 miles from my home. I traveled by a medical transport van, which I've never done before & it went very well. My reward from that workshop was getting a 3 month free membership in the YMCA, & I am now in a weight loss & exercise program with them, including help with dieting & having a Personal Trainer (hoity-toity!), who will work with me on developing an exercise program including use of the Y's swimming pool. I'm very excited about this, & I'm sure it will help me to lose weight a little faster but still allowing time for mental & emotional adjustments & all as I go along. I know they will want me to record my daily food intake, which I do anyway but not as exactly or as strictly as I really should. In mid-March the "Living Well With Chronic PAIN" workshop starts, & I really want to try to attend that one too. These van trips take a lot out of me physically, but are so worth it for me. I've gained a couple of pounds lately, but I know they'll vanish soon so I'm not even going to let it worry me. I got to use the Y's pool for the 1st time on Thursday & it was great. I was careful not to overdo it as I know how easy it is to do that in the water, & took a little extra meds & didn't have any muscle cramps or much extra soreness or anything, which is very good. I am to go there twice a week to start & work up to 3 times a week soon, but will try to get on here to visit all my dear FS buddies as often as possible. Sending You Healthy Wishes & Skinny Hugz, GLAMMER

Good Morning, Everyone! I hope you all had a Merry Chrisamas, & are enjoying a very Happy New Year. We certainly are, so far things have been very good for our family, except that Hubby's Mom's health is failing, & we expect her to leave this life fairly soon now. Family complications are making this time a bit difficult, but we are trying to stay neutral & just help where we can. Sorry my postings have fallen off for the Holidays, but at least I have been staying pretty well on track food-wise. The Chronic Illness workshop I was in ended just in time for Christmas, then things got really busy, at least for our usually fairly slow & easy lifestyle. We both had some Dr's appts, & also keeping track of & housebreaking my Christmas puppy Sophia Maria Noel Chi-Weenie. Having lost 2 precious female Yorkies with 8 months, we were feeling very sad, & 3 Sundays ago, our 2 daughters brought me Sophia. She has filled our lives with love, laughter & excitement, along with mopping up accidents & frayed laptop & MP3 cords, among other "fun" things. But one look at her face & you can't stay upset, & we've already come to love her dearly. I am thrilled that in spite of a bit of overindulgence here & there I've managed to actually lose about half a pound over the holidays. I had a weigh-in with Mike on Friday morning. I hired a medical transport van, & Mike was quite pleased with my weight. Now I have less than 50 lbs to lose. I'm very excited about breaking that milestone. I feel very confident about losing the rest of the weight, & becoming healthier & more active. I owe a lot of my success so far to you, my dear FS friends. I truly appreciate the encouragement & advice you've given me so far, & am looking forward to continuing our healthy weight loss journey together. Hugs & Blessings, GLAMMER

Hi Everyone, Sorry I've been MIA again for awhile. "Life gets in the way", as they say. I'm doing quite well weight wise, so that's good. I'm attending a workshop called on Mondays called "Living Well With Chronic Conditions", & I'm learning some good things, but it's taking a good bit of my "free" time. A ReadyRide van picks me up & brings me back, so I can use my power chair. This is the 1st time I've used it except around home, as we don't have a wheelchair rack on our car. I am doing better at recording my daily food intake, but I keep it in a notebook in my kitchen, not on here. This way I can do it while I'm cooking & won't put it off then not do it at all. I was already tracking calorie & carb counts of our foods in that notebook, so I'm just doing more accurate itemizing of each item than before. This seems to be working better for me than trying to do it on here. I've been distracted over the last couple of weeks, after hearing that our middle daughter in Southern California has an ovarian cyst. She called on Friday to say the cyst is starting to hurt. She was at has had an ultrasound, but hasn't heard the results yet. She is an 11 year survivor of both endometrial & thyroid cancer, so this is like re-living a nightmare. But I know that God is taking good care of her, & He will see her through. I'm just having a hard time focusing on anything for very long, & not sleeping too well. That might also be why I've lost more weight than usual. We'll know more of what's going on with her in a week or so, & that should make things easier. Meanwhile I'm just hanging in there, & doing lots of praying. I hope you all have a great week. Hugz, GLAMMER
