We rode our bikes to dinner, I had a deconstructed sushi roll (salad) and he had a grilled chicken salad, but sadly, his front tire popped as we started to peddle towards our next trail. Calling it an early evening. Atleast we got a 2.5 mile ride in, and I got a 3/4 mile walk in while he went to get his car so we could load the bike up and head home for a little rest.

Just returned from a 11.87 mile bike ride around the mosquito infested local dog park, and our neighborhood, but I wanted to start the same sort of progress chart I've used in the past.

We put off our second day of biking 'til later in the evening because of 91° heat and hail at ~6pm. Finally made it out after our salad dinner at ~9:45pm (and it was still 80° that late!) for a 7.5 mile ride with a lightning storm and a great trail over the highway!

Oof, I haven't updated since 3/15/16. That was 7 months after meeting my boyfriend. In 5 years we have moved several times, moved in together for the first time, gone thru a few jobs, bought our first place, took a Vegas vacation just as the pandemic was kicking off, got engaged, and now we're trying to plan a wedding and start a family.
Almost 10 years ago, on 9/30/11, I started FatSecret at my heaviest weight: 208. I am now 4 lbs over, at 212. About 2.5 years in a sedentary Call Center job, plus the pandemic exacerbating the health issues, hasn't helped. I'm saddened that I cannot keep weight off without counting calories, but I know I can make this work again now that I have some motivation!
Today, my fiancé and I purchased a pair of mountain bikes from FB Marketplace, as well as all of the gear to jump in with both feet. After some maintenance to make them more sturdy and more comfortable, we took our Maiden Ride in a nearby neighborhood (3.93 miles) in ~95 degree heat! My new fitness watch was showing anaeroic for 2/3 of the time, and "extreme" (163 to 181 bpm) for the other 1/3.. kinda scared me a bit, since I knew I was shocking my lazy, sedentary body into exercise...but I'd really rather not have a heart attack at 39! That being said, once the sun retreated, we went out for another 3.1 miles for a total of 7.1 miles on our first day back on bikes in two decades.
It felt really great! Tons of motivation to slim down with planning to go on our first cruise by the end of the year, and the upcoming wedding next year!
