losing 0.1 lb a week

Sigh. Here I am again. I started this forum in March, lost a few pounds, went on vacation... got busy between vacations and gave up. So now I am starting again.
This time I have started with exercise... so while I am now only 1.5kg smaller than where I left off, I am hoping to keep to it this time... and tone while I lose. I am getting up at 6:00am every day to get in at least 30 minutes of exercise and a good breakfast before work. I have been at this already a month now, so I am hoping to have more success than last time.
I will turn 40 next fall and want to enjoy the last summer of my 30s on the beach somewhere hot.

After coming back from vacation, I found the work piled up. Rather than do the smart thing and go shopping for fresh fruits and vegetables and prepare healthy snacks, I dove straight into work. Yo make matters worse, internet was down in my home, so I wasn't logging in and keeping track. And so I only lost 1 kg over this whole 2.5 weeks (10 days in lebanon and a week back). Sigh.
Anyway, I am hoping to get back on track by the end of the week.

I am back from my 10-day vacation in Lebanon and in truth, did NOT do so well with dieting... we hired a car and traveled the whole country (see blog: dailyhawler.blogspot.com), but also ate tons of seafood- hard not to after living in landlocked country, drank Lebanese wine, ate mezze (all containing olive oil) and unfortunately stopped three times at fast food chains (mostly when lost in remote Hezbollah-controlled places - seems the Hezbollah loves their KFC).
Now, to be honest, even though I walked a LOT and used the gym the one night we stayed in a 4 star hotel, I am AFRAID to weigh myself. Today I decided that I should start Fatsmash all over again and have brought only fruit and veggies to work. Do I really have to weigh myself BEFORE I start? I would be happy to wait until midway through Phase 1.

YAY! Tomorrow is the last day of Phase 1 and I get to weigh myself (right?). Today I encountered no obstacles, except that I was slightly less active than planned... The plan was to go to the university and upload stuff onto a page I made for students to be able to access each others' work... and to go shopping in the bazaar (a real effort as you have to find your way through mazy little passages and battle to get past big scowling women in black abayas to get into any shop. I will have to reschedule being fitted for my traditional Kurdish dress (women here dress in these to go to picnics all through spring). As this may be my last year here, it is now or never. I went to the gym, but then came straight home as there was a dust storm on the way.
