Today is CHEAT DAY! (to be known as Re-Feed Day form now on) I have found that if I give myself a couple of cheat days it does a number of great things for my weight loss journey. Sometimes I will do 2 days in a row like Fri &Sat or some times I split them up. Just depends on what is happening. As long as I keep it to 2 days or less it works great for me.
1. Keeps me from giving up on the other 5 days of eating clean.
2. Resets my body getting rid of the "starvation mode" so I don't retain every ounce I eat.
This has always worked for me in the past. I think it is because on cheat day I eat carbs like bread, potatoes etc that I don't normally eat and this triggers the leptin (weight loss hormone) to fire up the weight loss machine.

Slow but steady wins the race. Not only am I counting calories and eliminating processed food, especially carbs, from my diet, I have added water aerobics and bicycle rides. That with my increased mobility throughout the day should have a very good effect on my weight loss. I have been primarily a slug since sept 2014 due to chemo. I am now starting to get my energy back and have rejoined the real world.

losing 2.0 lb a week

I am back on the train as of today! I can no longer use the excuse of chemo and steroids causing the weight gain, I have been off the chemo and steroids since Dec. 14th. I have begun water aerobics and am finally beginning to move a bit more. Time to get rid of the "comfort food" like ice cream, bread and tons of carbs. My doc told me it was time to be a little uncomfortable. 😎 So now it's time to be relentless n tracking calories and string in my allowable calorie zone. I put on 30 pounds while doing chemo. I already needed to lose 10 to 15lbs. So now I need to lose 40 to 50lbs. I know I can do this with a healthy diet and exercise.
