Jeri, yes. The diet worked well for me a few years ago. Since then, i quit smoking and my body has changed over the years. I have gone back to original induction and am giving that ago for a week or so. If that doesnt work, i will knock out the salad for a few days. If that doesnt work then a trip to the doctor is in order. I have started working out again regardless and have just added a one mile walk in the evening. Actually just finished the walk. Back when it worked well, the only thing i did was walk 2 to 3 times a day. The weight fell off effortlessly.

Mummydee... I agree that it is probably not a thyroid issue, but one never knows. Dr Atkins talks about hidden thyroid issues that don't show up on normal tests in his Diet Revolution book. Will see in a few days if i kick started again.

Thanks MV. And I agree with sticking with the diet. This is a way of life. Things can be added back as we progress into the later stages. I plan on talking with my doctor very soon. I dropped to 248 last week, but it is a topsy turvey on the scales. I have gone back to induction for a week to try and jump start it again. Today is day 3. If this doesnt work, time for a trip to the doc.

Mummydee... I think you are falling for the same fallacy as others do with this article..this article follows the same premise that margarine is only one ingredient away from plastic. Margarine may be one ingredient away but it is not plastic. It also
Leads one to believe that all these hard to pronounce names are bad for use. Do you take a multivitamin on this diet. If you do, you are ingesting a lot of these same things in fillers and binders. If you look at some of the things we eat you will notice propylene glycol. Most believe that this is antifreeze and folks commonly try and scare others into believing this. This is not true, there are many types of propylene glycol. No where in this article does she say that this almost a full days allotment of carbs. What she does say is that sugar alcohols are bad. It is funny that dr atkins mentions sugar substitutes in his book diet revolution and actually prefers one called sugar twin. But he does mention that other forms are acceptable. As to the processed meats...he says hotdogs and kielbasa are not for induction but are fine after that. Both of these have fillers and strange name ingredients.
