Woo hoo! Feels good to be below 160! Amazing how just 5 pounds makes a difference in how my clothes fit! I am learning NOT to turn to food for stress relief and emotional comfort, this is a big step for me.

Surprisingly even with the indulgence of steak, corn on the cob, 1/2 f a brownie, and 2 beers, i was still below 1500 calories yesterday. Just goes to show moderation is the key and eating right the rest of the day. Life is still crazy busy. I met with my personal trainer yesterday but forgot my workout clothes - uuuggh. So today I will go through the workout on my own - 25 minutes of cardio and 30-35 minutes of strength training. I love the circuit weight machines at our wellness center - so simple to use - i think this will actually be fun! I have a very stressful weekend - photographing my first large traditional wedding. I'll photograph rehersal tonight and be shooting from 8:30 tomorrow morning to 10:30 tomorrow night. I have bought some healthy snacks and will pack them in my cooler to eat on the run!

I went to 6am cycling class but I only did 35 minutes. I was feeling really queazy. I guess I need to ease back into this and also since I'm cutting back on calories, I don't have the reserves to do this class without eating something first. But it feels good to get back to an exercise routine! Tomorrow I meet with my personal trainer, I'm excited!

I'm baaaaaaccccckkkkk! This time with the help of a personal trainer, I plan to take this seriously. My fitness level has seriously declined, it is time to get strong again! Had my initial assessment and met with trainer today. We meet again on Thursday to go through a work out routine. Life is very busy but I can't but this off, I need to find a way to incorporate exercise and healthy eating into my busy schedule. I'm looking for some support here - I know I can count on MJ and the rest of you! My weight at the wellness center was 164.4 with clothes and shoes on. My weight at home first thing this morning was 161. I am not going to weigh for 2 weeks - that will be hard!

It is the start of a new year! At least for me and the incoming class of medical students. So I am making the commitment to get back on Fat Secret and track my food and exercise. The start of a new academic year seems like a good time to get serious about this. It will be a totally hectic semester but I need to learn how to not stress, work exercise into my day, and not use food as a way to unwind and relax!Today I signed up at the wellness center for a personal trainer to help me establish a routine, incorporate strength training into my exercise program, and keep me accountable! My bone density scan revealed early thinning - I need to track my calcium intake (and take my Fosomax, Calcium, and Vit. D) and get some weight bearing exercise. I'm feeling strong - I'm ready for a new year and getting back to more healthy habits!
