Fatsecrets Carb Counts vs Atkins Website Carb Counts
I'm noticing a huge difference here in Carb counts. For example, when calculating my carbs on a roma tomato, 1/2 Cup (or 1 med) Roma tomato is 2 carbs according to FS. But I see on the Atkins site, 1/2 Cup of Roma is actually 8.6g. THAT'S A HUGE DIFFERENCE!
I need to be more careful .. glad I caught this when I did

I discovered PORK RINDS! Do any of you use them in place of 'breading' when frying, for example, chicken?
I was way low on my foundation veggies yesterday; simply because I was out and about with a friend, getting in some serious and much needed retail therapy.
I see my weight hasn't budged today; but that's cool. Mr. Atkins will give me a 2 lb drop tomorrow. (or more). Wishful thinking here, of course, but I do know that I do much better on plan when I don't go anywhere.
Have a terrific Tuesday!
P.s. how can I correct my weigh-in #? It should be 206.6

It seems the salt I've been consuming (mainly in BACON recently) has been affecting my weigh-ins. I see now this morning I've dropped again nicely... surprisingly, since I had bacon yesterday morning and (of all things) Sauerkraut and pork for dinner last night.
I'm going to try focusing on the salt intake; keep it down a tad. They emphasize in Atkins to make sure we get enough salt; that only "adding salt to taste" to our meals 'isn't enough'. They encourage things like broth, etc. (What, NOT BACON??) LOL
Like with everything, one just has to figure out their own amounts that work for them.
Today I look forward to trying out another new recipe; one I found here. It's Parmesan crusted chicken. I THINK I saved it in my recipes here. I'll have to check. I know I for sure printed it.
Make it a great day!

losing 9.8 lb a week

Okay, my first day going up in weight; I won't let this get me (too) down. :-/
It was another cold one here in Minnesota yesterday and so I got sucked into watching back to back episodes of "My 600 lb Life". Oh, my heart just breaks for these people, who so want their lives back and how hard they work after gastric bypass surgery. Most cases I saw were very successful; I was so happy for them!!! But there were a couple of them that didn't go so well.
I pray I have the strength to lose the weight I need to become more healthy. I'm am here per doctors orders; Weight Watchers didn't work --- I was constantly fighting the cravings I get so terribly bad. So far the Atkins is going very well, in not only keeping the cravings at bay but the foods I'm allowed/not allowed to eat have been somewhat of a challenge for me, but seeing the results so quickly is what keeps me motivated. I'll be able to get some of these carbs back; and what I love most about Atkins is, knowing that somewhere down the road, I will LEARN what things I must avoid to prevent cravings. This is what I need most. Because these cravings (mainly for junk food of course) are bad in me. (... or WERE bad in me) ;)
Perhaps I'll be down a little tomorrow. What's this 'up' business, anyway! lol ;)
Have a fabulous Sunday. Today I will do some scrapbooking!
How 'bout you?
