I am finally a few weeks from a diagnosis. I am guessing it is something along the lines of premature ovarian failure, meaning menopause at 27. This is why I have not been on here. Weight loss was NOT happening. Hopefully treatment will happen soon and my metabolism will return to normal. I know how to lose weight. I tell people how to lose weight for a living and I have lost weight before. I plan to get walking again ( I have a torn meniscus but it is seeming to be healing) and keep eating healthy (I eat really healthy about 5 days a week, that has not changed). I hope the weight kinda just falls off.

I just want to thank everyone for encouraging me to go get lab work done. I had been experiencing a lot of strange things: hot flashes, extreme fatigue, weight gain that I could not lose (belly fat for the first time), etc. Got a new provider because I had been seeing mine for these issues for three years and she did not do crap. This provider did a full lab work up and it turns out my hormone levels are on the low end for someone considered post-menopausal. I am 27! So low for someone my age. It all makes sense now. Of course I could not lose weight, I am basically post-menopausal and estrogen is stored in fat, so my body wants to hold onto my fat. So, now is the trial and error process to work on these hormones, hopefully I see improvement soon, I am sick of this weight and I am sick of being so tired I cannot make it through a day at work.

I am finally getting myself a new doctor. I have been chronically tired for three years. Tired to the point where I cannot make it through the day without falling asleep at my desk/ not being able to make it past 8pm without soooo much coffee. I have also not been able to lose weight for two of these years. I never had this much trouble losing weight before. I am starting to think whatever is making me tired is also the reason I cannot lose weight. I really hope she helps me find out what is wrong. My previous doctor did the basic labs and went from thinking I had lymphoma to.... you are young, you are fine... Clearly if you thought I had lymphoma, I am not fine, just because my vitamin and thyroid levels are okay. I get some physical activity daily. I at least walk 30 minutes a day, and weekends I at least clean and run errands. On good days I do 30 minutes of exercise in the morning plus I walk 30 mins to 1 hour. I eat healthy most of the time. I just cut back my alcohol intake from 6 days a week to 2 days a week and on those two days I am drinking less than I did. Still no weight loss. I actually gained weight. Just looking to not be so tired all the time. It is seriously taking a toll on my social and work life.
