I went to the store and bought all the equipment I need to start P90X. I got a pull-up bar, push-up bars, a mat, some dumbells, and a heart monitor. Once I got home I started looking through all the manuals and stuff and I'm glad I decided to read them instead of going straight to the DVDs, they have some pretty good information.

I'm not much of a cook and I'm also a picky eater so the nutritional guide is a little overwhelming to me right now. I've been doing good about not eating junk and staying under 1300 cal/day but now I have to start eating foods that are going to fuel my body and help it recover! I think I'm going to need some help with this part.

Anyway...after taking my before photos, I decided to take the Fit Test since I hadn't done that yet. Except for the pull-ups, I was very pleased with myself...I thought I was going to do a lot worse! I've been working out so I guess that helped out a lot. Here are my results:

Resting Heart Rate: 67
Pull-Ups: 0! (This was disappointing)
Vertical Leap: 12"
Push-ups: 30
Toe Touch: +4
Wall Squat: 1m 7s
Bicep Curl: 40 with 8lb weights
In&Outs: 40
Heart Rate Maximizer:
180
148 (1min)
132 (2min)
127 (3min)
124 (4min)

After I was done with the Fit Test my endorphins kicked in big time...I just wanted to take a nap!

OK...so I ordered P90X and I am super nervous about it! All I hear is that it's super hard and that most people don't finish it and all this negative stuff but I can't let that get to me. I haven't even told anybody that I purchased it for fear of hearing all that negativity from everybody. I can't have people telling me things like "why did you waste your money on that" or "that's too hard, you wont be able to do it"....I don't want to hear any of that!!!

I've been very good about working out with my husband at the karate school that I work at, but because I work there and I have things to do I can only work out about 3 times a week for 30 minutes each time...I have to work out more.

The reason I chose P90X is because I used to work out at home all the time before I had kids. All I had were a couple of free weight and that's it and I worked out every single day. I love doing free weights at the comfort of my home...that's my style of workout. I was in crazy good shape and I had a workout routine and everything, but I've forgoten the routines and what to do so this program should help me start doing what I used to do and so much more. I know it's going to be hard but I also know that I'm going to enjoy it. This is my style of exercise, I hate having people watch me, I hate having to drive to a gym but I love to do strength training and muscle toning. So even though I'm nervous, I'm also super excited. I can't wait to start!

I received an email yesterday saying that my DVDs should arrive no later that March 7th...I can't wait! I have to go buy a pull up bar and a few free weights so I can get started as soon as it gets here!!!

I'll continue to make journal entries about my progress and challenges once I start. YAYYYYYY :) I'm so excited!

I've noticed that I needed a change. I lost my drive and I needed to change things up so I feel like I'm starting fresh and that always helps motivate me. So after years of doing Weight Watchers I am now just counting calories, fat, carbs, and protein. I signed up on myfitnesspal.com and I entered all my info and my goals and it tells me how much of what I should consume in a day. I also get to track my exercise and that adds a certain amount of calories to my daily intake. I've been doing that for 2 weeks now and I've lost 5 lbs!!! I'm loving it!

I also just ordered P90X and I'm super nervous/excited about it. I keep hearing that it's super hard so I'm nervous about being able to do it but I'm also excited because that's how I love to work out. I'll keep you posted on how the workouts go for me!!!!

WOOHOO!!! 120 here I come!
