Been stickin with the doc's Whole 30 plan. Haven't wavered. 219.6 was a welcome vision this morning. For my B-day dinner last night, I had a steak, sweet potato, and veggies. No birthday cake though...instead, I went with a birthday canteloupe. :+)
Its taken some time, and I am still challenged here and there, but, it seems to be working well. Not sure where my BP is at, but, overall I feel better. The lumpy itch in my throat has disappeared as well as the cough, bloating has gone way down, water retention is almost gone, and my knees feel SO MUCH BETTER!!!! Still waiting to hear back on my thyroid and lipid panels. For now, I feel good so I shall continue with Whole 30. Have a blessed day, all! Annie

Long time, no post. Doc put me on an extraordinarily strict diet this past Tuesday. I would seem that I've been under some stress, and it has done wonders to undermine my weight loss efforts. Who knew?
So, this stuff called Cortisol goes into mass production by the adrenal glands when I get stressed. It appears to manifest itself in the form of a large tire around my midriff, and nothing at the gym seems to help it disappear. In turn, the giant tire I have developed has driven up my BP to previously unknown-to-me levels. And, the old thyroid has been playing games.
After the appt, Doc gave me a little kit that I took the hospital. They drew SEVEN, yes 7, vials of blood, to run all kinds of tests on- including a full thyroid panel. To help deal with the BP, cortisol and thyroid, she put on me on the Whole 30 plan and some deep breathing exercises, plus a Cortico supplement. After 48 hours, I had lost 8 pounds. (Me thinks that most of the loss was due to the blood draw.) Was hoping that I'd be able to sleep better at night, but am finding that I can't even do that.
I am on day 4 of this evil diet, ready to pull my hair out. No mayo???? What kind of torture is this? No whipping cream in my coffee? Grrrrr. 4th of July, with no roasted marshies? I am so ready to go cry. Not even lo-carb ice cream.
Other than that, all is well. House is coming along nicely and half of the garden is planted. Got all the kids, daughters in law, and grandkids (3) set to arrive tomorrow. And, now I must go clean house. Have a blessed weekend and holiday all!

I finally weighed in AFTER 2 c of coffee, 75 min workout, and a bottle of Vitamin water zero, half of an avocado, and a protein bar. So that was cool. Just have to keep up the trend now!

No change in weight which is both good and bad. I didn't pig out over the long weekend, but I did a pretty intense workout Monday morning. Water retention perhaps. IDK. Just watching the eats really carefully, so maybe there will be some good downward trend going on the scales soon.
