Thoughts on alcohol
One thing none of you mentioned is that not all alcohol calories or even the general makeup of the drink is the same just like in food. Once or twice a week I have a glass or 2 at the most of red wine. Generally speaking the next day, I have lost at least half a pound if not a whole. I DO NOT contribute drinking the wine to weight loss, it is a whole picture kind of thing. I didn't eat tons of food as well. Like most things if you are going to drink or eat, you have to consider what it is. I could eat 1500 calories of junk all day and gain weight, but if I eat 1500 of good food then I loose. If you can't drink and NOT over eat then don't drink. Someone else made the comment earlier that if you are looking for a reason to drink and trying to make weight loss work too, then there is a problem way beyond getting healthy and calorie intake. One other factor is the very next day after drinking you need to consume a lot more water. Moderation in all things healthy and even smaller amounts in things not healthy.

Looking for a fitness buddy to keep me motivated
Am available as a buddy. "
. You need to put in your stats and keep an accurate food diary. This helps motivate you and helps others see where you need help.

Is it true?
I second everything you said. In addition, healthy fats often times take away sugar cravings. Besides, if God didn't think we should eat choc, he wouldn't have created it to begin with. Moderation in all things.

Cinnamon - Does it really affect your metabolism?
Started taking cinnamon tablets along with the tons of other vitamins I take every morning. Also drink Cinnamon tea in the afternoon. Hope this isn't just hype.
