My name is Mortified...I mean, I AM mortified. Aside from these days, the heaviest that I ever was in my entire life was 164 lbs. I was then able to get back to my normal adult weight of 130 lbs in a few short months; this was 10 years ago, to the day. I used to live in a region of the country where it was pretty much 70/75 degrees and sunny almost every day. I was physically active most days of the week. I regularly exercised and ate a healthy diet and spend a LOT of time being active outdoors. ...And then I moved. The move wasn't involuntary, I chose to move out of state and far away to get away from a long term (almost 10 years), toxic relationship once and for all. I moved to another state where I had relatives but it wasn't a place that would be 75 and sunny every day, anymore. On the contrary, a place that has seasons, like winter seasons. It's a place where you are pretty much indoors from about November 1st through April, about 6 months out of the year, because of extreme cold. I knew what I was getting into weather-wise, but never anticipated the adjustment period and depression that would go along with such a change. In a nutshell, it took me close to 6-7 years to finally adjust and accept my new life here. In that time and up until present day however, I managed to gain a whopping 85 pounds over the 10 years I've lived here. Like most people I have tried and failed and gained more and more each year as time went on. Well, this all stops starting today. Some how some way I'm going to lose ALL of this horrible weight that has bogged me down, robbed me of my self esteem, made me feel ugly and unhealthy. For decades I have studied all aspects of weight loss. I have come across good information as well as misleading information. I know it can be very difficult to weed through all that is out there but in the last year or so, I have come across some new insights into weight loss and I believe that I now have the tools I need to succeed. 130 Lbs, here I come!

Low Carb with Intermittent Fasting...?
Hi Keto Kibitzer. Thanks for your reply. Congrats on sticking with it for two years. I tried doing low carb/keto a few years ago but I didn't know as much as I know now. I've been really diving in to more research. One thing did it for me and that was watching a video titled "what sugar does to your body when you consume it". That was enough to get me right back on track! I've been sticking to my lifestyle change ever since the 1st, and am having no signs of quitting. My cravings have also subsided for the most part, but I'm sure that'll improve with time as well. I hadn't discovered "chaflfes" until you mentioned it but I did make the best pizza crust ever with the same two ingredients - egg and cheese. I've tried all the other versions, with/without cauliflower, etc, but the egg/cheese one is the best!

Low Carb with Intermittent Fasting...?
Greetings. I'm back on the weight loss bandwagon - again - since Jan 2, 2023. I'm looking to connect with women who are following the same 'lifestyle' way of eating which is low carb with intermittent fasting, so that we can lean on and encourage each other to succeed.

I've been a user on FS for over 10 years, although I just created a new profile as my other one was just so played out.

So far I've lost 11 pounds since the beginning of this year and look forward to many many more pounds shed! I'm doing well, sticking to my routine, and no signs of quitting or becoming unmotivated which is great! BTW, if ever you feel like you're becoming unmotivated to stick to your (low carb) plans, Google any reputable internet site and watch any video that's titled something like, "What happens to your body when you consume sugar" and if that's not enough to straighten you out and motivate you again, then you're probably not very serious about getting (truly) healthy!

Anyhow, I'm 53 years old, married, with four fur babies who are my non-human kids, so yeah, I'm the crazy dog (and one cat) mom.

Currently I'm following a regime of about 70% fat, 20% protein, and about 10% carbs. I haven't truly started an exercise routine but will be incorporating a light-to-moderate plan this week.

Feel free to send me a message if this sounds like you Smile
