What time of day are your BS readings highest? Many folks have high readings in the morning, it's called the Dawn Phenomenon. A T1D friend switched his insulin regime up to reduce morning BS, now takes his long acting insulin around dinner time, and it seems to be working for him.

It is very common to have "high" BS readings in the morning, has to do with overnight metabolism of food. Check out Blog.VirtaHealth.com - they have a posting about Dawn Phenomenon.
