I am discouraged. I don't know how much less to eat. At best I only seem to not gain. Within the past several months, pictures have been taken of me at work events. I am ghastly. Virtually unrecognizable from the person I used to be.
174.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 39.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

It's not easy to find the right amount of calories to eat to lose weight, because the number is different for every person. Maybe start out with 1500 a day and you can adjust that number accordingly. There are calorie calculators that you can use as guidelines to help you with that too. Eat a healthy balance of food and try to stay away from too many processed type foods. They can slow weight loss with too much sodium. Get in some exercise. Even walking a few times a week will help. you can also do some research on line. There are many sites and magazines that offer articles on losing weight and nutrition. You just take what you want from the articles and apply what you want to your own life. Good luck!

I agree with suzi161. First try to find what your maximum intake of calories are per day. It also depends what age you are. If your "older" you need less calories each day. Do get some exercise, this will help with weight loss. Reducing amount of food is not enough to loose weight. Throw away candies etc. Try to not eat any junk food anymore. Just reduce the amount of food you ate everyday and think about the scale of five. DRINK ENOUGH WATER! Reduce the amount of glasses of wine *if you drink it.

Thanks. I am sure being in my 50's is a factor. I try to exercise, but I don't get home till late and it is often dark. I don't have a treadmill. Stress is a big factor. Decreasing caffeine yesterday seemed to help. I will be careful about the sodium. I am so disappointed that I let myself get this way. It seems like such a huge hurdle to get back to where I was.
