188.8 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 18.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Why do you feel defeated? If you can't stick with Atkins, try something else. Summer is around the corner and you don't have a lot to lose. Just 5 pound will make a huge difference and make you feel good. Get some fitness magazines and read them for motivation. Go to the library and find some books on different plans or do some googling. Go to Pinterest.com and type in "fitness motivation". They have great pics, quotes, recipes, etc. Try a new exercise class. Once you take the steps to do positive things and see some results, you will want to keep going. Quit that pity party and get that bum moving. You CAN do this!

I can stick with Atkins, I have the same menu for three weeks!! I do my exercise everyday. I lost 60 lbs on Atkins 6 0r 7 years ago. For some reason I am gaining weight this time. My husband has been laid off and is with me everysecond, of every day, When I tell him i gained another lb, he makes me show him!! He doesn't understand how that is poossible. he is begging me to go to the dr. He think's it something else, but I don't know what to think.

Track your food if you haven't been tracking to see what and how much you are eating. Some people need to count calories on Atkins. You can't compare last time to this time because weight loss is different every time. Exercise can cause temporary gains because of muscle edema. Have you noticed your clothes feeling more loose? If you have than you know what you are doing is working. It just means it hasn't shown on the scale yet. If you are tracking calories, following the plan honestly and as written and still haven't lost any in a couple of weeks, then you might have your thyroid checked. Maybe it's stress from having your husband with you every second of the day, lol! Stress CAN raise cortisol levels making it more difficult to lose. Google "why the scale lies" for insight in to water weight fluctuations. Also watch the bars and shakes. Some people have problems losing with them.

Thanks. The comment about the "Husband stress" made me chuckle! LOL. I am so strict, I never exceed my 20 carbs. I also never eat atkins drinks or bars, I remember the last time I did it, the bars would stal my weight loss. I thought maybe I wasn't getting enough carbs. I don't mind not losing every week, but the gaining is killing me. Thanks for listening

Atkins completely RUINED my metabolism! I went on the Southbeach and it has really worked well for me. You might want to switch. I just think Atkins is pretty unhealthy.
