It can be challenging when you quit smoking. Sometimes it's just the feeling of holding a cigarette. My sister quit and found if she held a celery stick or carrot stick in her hand or in her mouth it helped. IDK, but just a thought. keep up the positive attitude. I'll be cheering for you!

I smoked for 2 years when I started college because at the time if was so sophisticated and adult. Still took me a year to stop carrying an unopened pack and hen I finally got smart and quit.

I admire your fortitude. I've tried to quit for months... but I struggle with the 2nd day. Thanks for the inspiration!!

Well done, are you using any nicotine replacement products or medications? I stopped in January and bar once when I fell off the wagon I've kicked the habit (and I lost weight in the process!).

that is wonderful. I quit cold turkey. it can be done. your weight will rise temporarily. try a teaspoon of cream of tartar once a day for 3 days. it gets the remaining nicotine out of your system and wear a rubber band on your wrist. When you crave a cig just snap it hard. it brings you back into the moment and then you can remember to reaffirm why you wanted to quit.
It sounds so simple right?!
My husband smoked almost 30 years. 2-3 packs a day. It worked for him so I recommend it if you get any cravings to go back.
Wishing you great success.

Congrats on kicking the habit. Looks like you're doing awesome in the weight loss area. I started my lifestyle change July 4th. Independence Day. I didn't go cold Turkey. Had to get help with wellbutrin. Stuck with the med for 3 weeks, until I could get the anxiety, urges under control. Horrible side effects. Wish I knew about the rubber band trick. I'm never going to back that killer habit. It's also the reason why I don't drink that occasional glass of wine. I lose my inhibitions after 1 glass.
