Windy Day's Journal, 15 July 2024

Good Monday morning! Another hot one on tap for today here in the south. But it is mid July, so nothing new here! 67 days til autumn's September equinox. My favorite time of year, when indigo skies sport racing clouds of white and pewter and the sun gleams thru fiery autumn foliage. Crisp air and cool breezes. What is not to LOVE?? Now is the time when I begin to look for signs of a short summer and early fall. Have seen several baby woolly worms already, completely black. Sign of a severe winter to come. Local persimmons are another one more reliable, in my opinion, than the woollies to predict the winter weather. Nature knows. Til the glory days ahead, hope everyone is staying cool and enjoying their summer! (I am eating carbs today.)
