Diana 1234's Journal, 10 July 2024

Travel days are always challenging. I have been so inconsistent in my workouts...the humidity here is killing my desire to do anything. We are on last leg of our trip. Staying in Pensacola a week to visit with friends and then we will be headed home. Trip back will be hectic. Only one night stays... Joe is ready to get home. It's a lot of driving for him.

Be safe on your trip back you're right it's a lot of driving and it's not just you having to be careful but you watch out for everyone else on the road 🙄. Ryan was almost killed on 4th of July 😨. When he parked the car to travel past the roadblock when they were stopping cars during the fireworks he was going to walk past the roadblock and back up the hill towards the fireworks, but he needed to cross a bridge during that moment a drunk driver (or at least what we assumed to be a drunk driver) swerved and quickly sped along the bridge they almost hitting him and knocked him over the bridge and flipping him into the water and on to some rocks. Now luckily he didn't hit his head or hurt himself too badly on the way 👇 down, but he did get scuffed up and hurt his arm a little bit as well as sprained a muscle in his back. Unfortunately, the policeman wasn't able to catch the car as he because he was much more worried about Ryan safety and by the time he got back on the road and tried to catch the driver they already gotten too far and got away. But you just never know about the other people on the road it's really quite scary sometimes!

Leah, Wow! That is scary!! I'm just glad your husband is ok! We have been blessed so far. Joe is an excellent driver but you are right, you always have to be aware of what is happening with other drivers!🩷. Buenita, We just pray every night for a safe trip...🙏

Diana, be safe. That's a really long trip with a trailer to get back in what 3, 4, or 5 days. Hope you have really enjoyed your trip, especially your time in Nashville.

Bionici, Thanks. We decided to drive from here to Albuquerque with only staying overnights and then stay for a few days. After that we will go to Flagstaff and stay about 2-3 days there. We really enjoyed Nashville! It was our favorite place. So much to do!

Mainecoon, our friend who we are visiting lives about 5 min from beach. He has been through 3 hurricanes. He said Ivan was the worst, it downed trees in his yard and took the roof off his house. That's scary! We spent a lot of time in Gulf Shores which was great. We took our friend's boat out to watch the air show and got caught in a pretty bad storm! All good though, just had to wait it out..
