ZenusWarriorPrincess's Journal, 24 June 2023

Still not worried. I had a high sodium intake yesterday, which is actually necessary when doing keto/fasting. My journey is NOT ONLY about weight loss, but to give my body what it needs, when it needs it, and only what it needs. NO JUNK FOR ME! Yesterday's meal was AMAZING! The cabbage steaks wrapped in bacon on the grill...ummm, no words. The low-carb Alabama white sauce chicken on the grill was bangin, too! Topped off with those fresh local tomatoes... slammin! 😁 Have a great day, peeps! 😘

I got so sleepy after eating today (pretty normal). I almost went and took a nap, but I remembered Dr Fung saying to exercise after meals. So, I went for a short walk instead. Baby steps...

Fung says exercise after meals and Ekberg says let your food digest after meals. I'm of this camp: "If you ask enough people, you'll eventually find someone who will advise you to do what you were going to do anyway!" I have observed 1-3 lb changes either way are normal fluctations due to water retention, general hydration, inflammation, and digestive contents. You are staying with your plan. Good on you! Keep rolling with it!

@Lady Thanks for the info! 🤔 I know Dr Fung specializes with diabetics, maybe that has something to do with it, since I THINK I have read that walking after meals helps lower blood sugar. Ekberg is more the athletic type. Maybe it depends on your body type, diet, and what you're trying to accomplish...🤷‍♀️ As far as the little weight gain, I'm not worried. I think I need a good BM. 🫣 It's been a GOOD minute. (Sorry...TMI) I think I need some of that green juice Debra talks about, but it is expensive! I think I'll check at Walmart to see if i can find something similar, but a little cheaper.

Managing elimination is part of it. I'm sure you'll find a solution 🙂

Yea, Lady, maybe I need to start putting those fat juicey ribeyes in the blender. 🤣 I don't really have any symptoms though. It's just not what I'm used to.

That's my solution. Do nothing and don't worry about it. Yesterday was my third day eating and I was rewarded with not one, not two, but three visits from Mr Hankey. Peristalsis is stimulated by eating.

Congrats! 🤣 I'm going to have some mct oil in my coffee this morning. 🤷‍♀️ My husband asked me what I expected when I haven't been eating some days. 🙃 He is from Mexico, and has a lot more common sense than some of us here sometimes. I went to a dietician a few weeks ago & she told me to eat 6 times a day. I told him about it & he just looked at me bewildered. 😂

Thanks. Hubby congratulated me, too 🤣🤣 I have to ask, what flipped the switch inside you to choose time restricted feeding, keto and fasting over your health care provider's advice (and are you going back to see her?)

The plan was to eat protein+carbs 5x a day, and protein+carbs+veggies ONCE a day! 😵‍💫 From my RESEARCH, too much protein can actually be bad for your health (to each their own) and from past experiences I know I PERSONALLY can't handle carbs like that, especially HGI carbs. It fuels my sugar addiction. One cup of rice, and my tires are squealing going to the store for chocolate. There is an old African proverb "To know thy self is to know God". Plus, I was once pre-diabetic before going on keto years ago. It went away. I am almost positive my insulin is still high though. I have known of Dr Jason Fung a while. So, when I got home from the dietician, I started watching him. Then, I ran across Dr. Pradip Jamnadas who reminded me that I am a (sugar/carb) junky & talked about all of the health benefits of fasting. I NEED that in my life! Do I plan on going back? I've been thinking on that for days, not sure. I have an appointment 7/11. I may go back, just to get my BF% checked.

to address your digestive system, Pre/Probiotics on an empty stomach(~1.5 hrs after dinner) before bed. magic! probiotics work best on empty stomach. used to bloat real bad when i took them in the AM. Alas, after some hyper focused research, this is the ticket.

I should also add that keto cured my high blood pressure, cholesterol problems, depression, and anxiety. I lost 98 lbs in a year and was going to the gym several times a week. I was doing dumb bell presses (35lb each), 90lb weighted squats (all 4 sets of 12), can't remember much of the other stats. Then, I became grandma. My grand son's parents were Wilding out for a good minute, and he became my responsibility at 10 days old, for a while. I just let myself go again...smh. ...BUT I AM BACK, BABY! I KNOW I CAN DO THIS, WE CAN DO THIS!!! 🙂🙌

That's good you know what is working for you ZenusWarriorPrincess. I only eat 1/2 cup of rice at the most, but I'm a shorty that doesn't need many calories.

Thank you so much, DAZEY!!! I will definitely get some today or tomorrow! I have been planning on it.

Does it count that I eat my probiotics from plain yogurt. 😃
25 Jun 23 by member: lineruds
@lineruds 💜 rice!!! I could eat it SIX times a day! 🤣
25 Jun 23 by member: ZenusWarriorPrincess
@lineruds Idk much about probiotics. I'm sure some of the "experts" here can answer for you 🙂
