doorknocker26's Journal, 24 August 2024

I ended up in emerg yesterday for 10 hrs. I passed a kidney stone. Most painful thing that has ever happened to me, I think. Apparently, it's going to take a couple of days to recover from it all. I don't have any appetite today, still have the shakes, n I'm freezing, all normal, I guess. I feel like I've been run over by a truck, but either than that, I'm good. 😊

I’ve heard it’s as painful as childbirth.

It was much worse than 48 hours of back labor! Didn't matter which position I tried, there was no relief. Wave after wave of intense pain in the back n stomach all at the same time. I'm still experiencing pain but nothing near like before, more like period cramps. The stone still hasn't passed either. 😮‍💨

I’m sorry—that sounds brutal. Warm epsom salt bath & drink warm lemon water. Hope you get some relief very soon.

If it’s any reassurance my partner says the worst is always during the earlier days when the back and sides are contracting, he says it’s less painful when it passes and almost a relief. And he’s passed some big stones!! Advil helps not so much for the pain (bc really it’s not helping that level of pain!) but to take down the. Swelling which helps it pass at the end. Thinking of you and hope you recover quickly!

I feel for you. I have had 8 in this past year. They are finally going to put me on meds for it. I also passed a stone yesterday. And yes it takes a few days. Drink lots of water to flush out your body

I feel ya,. I've had them 2 times and both hospital trips. First time morphine shots every 15min to half hour I'm told lol and that didn't stop the excruciating pain which that part I remember. 2nd time I got torridal shot...stuff is frikin amazing..it's designed for kidney stones, it's apparently stronger than the morphine. If I ever have again they will be giving me torridal.
