Oh, yeah. Saw a cougar last night jump into the lake after ducks. No photo. I wasn't quick enough. It must be the year for cats.

That's cool. I snapped a picture of a bobcat going after ducks in a lake while I was fishing a few years back. Pretty neat to see. All the ducks escaped.

I know nature is cruel, but I like to cover my eyes when it comes to baby anything animals! :( Hope your muscle soreness subsides. Time for a hot bath maybe?

I thought cougars chased young men. Not ducks. :-) You should try a Epsom salt bath for your soreness. It works wonders.

Check out www.meltmethod.com Sue Hitzmann wrote a great book about using a SOFT foam roller to move around fascia and reduce pain. It really works! I do it and it enables me to keep going.

DOMS are a scientific mystery. So far all studies on causes/cures are equivocal. There are loads of anecdotal stories out on the net. Like using Epsom salts, none of the benefits have been proven for DOMS or other uses. A warm relaxing bath can't hurt. Some other cures I've heard are: Alternating Hot and Cold baths, Massage, Beer and anti-inflammatory pills. But not all at the same time. I used to get fierce pains after fencing competitions but now I don't get sore at all and I do push hard. I may just be numb to them now but I expect not. So rest or skipping a workout because you are sore will do nothing for the soreness. If you are not too tired to get a workout in go for it!

Wow... if I'd seen a cougar I'd been queen of the kayaker's .... you would have been able to water ski behind me..

On Epsom salts, I have become the Credible Hulk. I'll back up my statements with articles and studies.

There is lacking evidence to substantiate any treatment for DOMS. Try them out if something works for you use it. But don't go wasting huge amounts of cash, they come they go eventually you get habituated to the sensation. The only caution is if they last more than 2 days or are accompanied by swelling see an MD.
