So I've decided that weighing every week is no longer good for me. I'm going to weigh in every month instead. I realized that weighing in weekly makes it challenging for me to stay on track. I've been doing this for years now, and now seeing that I lost weight is making me feel like it's okay to eat unhealthily. See, when I see that I lost a few pounds the week before, suede of cake doesn't look all that bad. I want to stop focusing on the number on the scale. It's time to focus again on eating right and working out. The number on the scale worked for a long time, but it's time to make a change in my life.
Yeah. So the idea is that if I don't know what I weigh or if I've lost, I can assume the worst and hope for the best. I want to say no to the cake. I don't want to justify eating it because I lost a pound or two. I just want to say no. I'm thinking that if I weigh in once a month, I can still track my progress without using that number to justify bad eating habits. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this or if it works, but I think it's worth a shot.
Okay, so to the May weigh in...
Here are my monthly stats:
Last month: April 2016 Weight 162.5 lbs Body Fat 40 % Fat Mass 65 lbs Lean Mass 97 lbs This month: May 2016 Weight 160 lbs Body Fat 40 % Fat Mass 64 lbs Lean Mass 96 lbs
See! If I just did monthly weigh ins, I could not worry about the number. I went up and down from week to week, and I would feel bad and eat crap. I think that if I didn't see the number weekly, I would eat better and become healthier. Let's see how this pans out. :)

If I weigh in once a week, sometimes I don't have a loss and it makes me discouraged. If I weigh in once a month, I'm sure to have a loss and it helps me stay on track. I'm doing a challenge right now and have to weigh in once a week, but when it's over, I think I'll go back to once a month. I think you might like doing it this way.

Good for you! Just think about eating healthy and feeling well. You could use a tape measure and your clothes to see your progress.

Thank you, FS friends. I hope I like this. I was often getting discouraged with the weekly weigh ins. Today is my first, so we'll see!

You need to do what works for you. I agree with HCB, using a tape measure and your clothes may be a better measuring tool for you.
