-Nadja-'s Journal, 14 July 2024

My MRI showed several disc bulges on my spine with the disc bulge on L4/5 impeding the L5 nerve...well now that explains my back pain!! and all this time I thought it was just my muscles rebelling against their slave labour! There is no way to prove that my 70 hours a week cook's job caused all of this so I guess WSIB wins this case.

Now that I know what's wrong with my back, I'll adjust the way that I 'bulldoze' my way through the yard work....besides...I'm retired now so I have all the time in the world to work on my 'honey-do' list! 😊

Sorry to hear you received such terrible news. Yes, definitely time to begin pacing yourself especially when it comes to yard work. 💛

Check out “Squat University” on YouTube. I don’t know if they have anything that might help in your specific case, but they ave a lot of good videos and info about pain and injury, and dealing with and/or recovering from, etc. Also “knees over toes guy” as well. 😎

Craig...I want that guy as my physiotherapist!! LoL I do kmow the knees over toes when weightlifting, however digging in dirt is a totally different hip rotation/spine load. I was taught, as a kid, how to decompress my spine load so my recovery is generally a lot faster. Manually loading and unloading 9 tonnes of hay bales in a day builds awesome muscle structure but can throw the spine outta whack! I've been a 'bulldozer' my entire life! LoL
